Second Journal for me. Will try to keep it less rambling this time. Hydro seems pretty simple and straightforward. Looking to increase bud quality/potency/aroma this time. Last grow produced good smoke just want less trimming and better buds. Going to attempt to manifold all 4. Will probably replace the blue Lowe’s tub cuz it sux.

This run I have made a stress change in flower . The last 4 weeks of the grow. I did this for 2 runs on various plants and this run was all of them. Procedure is out of beta test and is a normal part of the grow now.
From week 4 flower on I have been culling and chewing on fan leaves about every 5 days. At week 7 I started reducing the light energy at canopy top.
This produces a stress response that is aimed right at trics. Plant thinks it’s being chewed on and end of the grow light reduction gives it a nice last gasp to the plant.
I thought I was the only one here doing that but several growers here have been giving it a go.

Dwc buckets was the first run I tried. Crashed and burned hard do to small buckets and an incomplete understanding of PPM/EC and PH control.
Customldwc false bottom 31x31 with 300 watts.
One of the few supplements I would buy if there wasn’t readily available copycat recipes on the web. A quick google search and minor investment would probably save you some cash.

Good luck on your grows I am going to start my DWC grow again for the fall and winter. My last one was fabulous between two of them I got 35 ozs. I used General hydroponics nutrients and Armor SI and Cal-Mag magic and Kool bloom and Hydroguard. For veg I added Veg stump tea all thru the grow now I think about it up until late flower. I grew Froot by the Foot and TRICROSS by atlas seed. Here is my chart on feeding if anyone is interested the first four weeks is Clonex. I did have great success in the regular 5 gallon buckets and measure them for nutrients at 4 gallon.

One thing I wanted to try to illustrate by my pics and forgot. I don’t know how all grows are but I even LST trained in the very beginning these 2 DWC 5 gallon buckets with proper treatment out grew a 26x26 tent in one (TRICROSS) and the other Froot by the Foot on a 4 foot by 2 foot roll around chrome shelf 6 feet tall. I started both out by bending them over as usual and stayed with them to expose all bud site’s. Just saying, this was my first ever DWC hydroponics. I am not knowing what my second one will have in store. I didn’t expect this out of autoflower seeds.
I am only planning on one plant this due to a HLG 600 light as the last time for the one on the shelf which was on the very top installed. I have now only.
The other one in the tent had a mars hydro light for a 4x4 tent. Both handled the areas. But the Mars hydro light has be gifted to a brother.

Actually looks like they germinated but they aret sprouting. I see the clean tap root going down and the coty leaves but they arent breaking the surface to start growing. They seem to have basically stopped progression after shedding the seeds. They are still curled over in the dirt. No pictures cuz I’m at work.
Anybody experienced this and know the solution? I’d be bummed to have to soak 2 more seeds.
Weird that it happened with both ethos seeds. ILGM broke ground in 48 hours exact same process.
Possibly I guess, but if it was too wet for both ethos seeds wouldn’t the same have been true for the ILGM seeds?
I’ll post a pic when i get home from work. I did wet the rapid rooters last noght after 4 days because they seemed dry. The tap root looks healthy white.
4 days sounds like plenty. That was my culprit last year. I just soak and put them in damp but drained coco. They always seem to pop once the tops dry out.
Soaked The two new ethos seeds Saturday morning, these two must have wanted to make up for the others that didn’t germinate properly. One of them jumped right out of their shell. Got the cubes back in the net pot 10 minutes ago.
And again, looks like a 2nd ethos seed doesn’t want to root. One of them did take.
I have to say. Extremely disappointed. That will probably be the last ethos product I ever buy. The problem seeds are the big Detroit energy and the seeds I recieved are pretty much white.
3 of 4 seed didn’t germinate properly. I would say its my fault but been germinating this way for almost 2 years now. Even followed their germinating card. Only problems I’ve had have been these seeds.
So looks like its only gonna be 3 plants this cycle. Maybe the other ethos seeds will go outside next spring.
So is that a feature or benefit?

@TigerLilly I smoked this strain before from a local dispensary a few years back before dispo weed turned trash. that’s why i made the purchase from ILGM.
It was very good. I like sativas that help with energy and focus as my job is very physical and I am also an outdoorsman/fitness enthusiast.
A true sour diesel strain (all time favorite). with some C4 pre workout makes for a very intense workout fyi.
The sour D I grew is good but the buzz is SUPER spacey and not great for workouts, that’s one of the reasons I don’t believe it was a true sour diesel.
