Wow much cheaper I will look into this thanks

Apparently I smoked too much because AN was not what I was looking for haha… apparently it was the Jacks thank you!!! I went my back to find the thread and all I remembered was the part a and part b and how it was cheap and easy haha…:pray::pray:

Like this? Should work for a grow or two I believe? I feel like this will be less stressful for some reason.

I can tell youve done some homework by the great questions you are asking. Good for you. I have no doubt you’ll be successful. Just keep reading and asking questions. The search icon is your friend. Find some growers here that are doing things the way you want to try and follow them. Every one here was at the same place as you, at one time or another.

Ok so apparently I need distilled water to start the pH reader in? so that will have to wait until the am… is this important to do just for longevity? Or can I use it for tonight anyway? Lol but I did test out the TDS on the tap water… running 137 ppm and the ec said 0274… for a reference anyway

Excellent!! I use distilled water on my Apera PH pen for calibrating but my blue lab requires regular tap… go figure :joy:. With your tap numbers I would definitely be using it for nutes or plain watering :love_you_gesture:

I wouldn’t have recommended mixing the 2 mediums. Both are great but the FFCL is more of a blend and OF is soil. It may work just concerned about a PH sweet spot??

Ok so after spending all night messing with the pH calibration… cutting cups and mixing soil… lol I finally got a gallon to just under 6.5 and watered the soil and popped them in… now I have to impatiently wait tent seems to be sitting around 76 rt and I’ve got it around 52 rh currently… had the humidifier running to test and had the tent soaked rh was 99 lol good thing I checked first… light is about 28” off the top at 60 percent lowest setting… should I put that dome on them? Or wait for them to sprout? Or shut the bleep up? Lol… oh and as for mixing the soils I have seen it done and they recommend 6.5 like soil… however picking one would have probably been easier for this first try

Ya for some reason ebay was even cheaper for more. I got the 4lb kit for $26 and some change, free shipping.

Cover them with the dome, you won’t need light to sprout those by the way. :love_you_gesture:

I’ve used Jack’s in soil for over a year and a half. Haven’t had a major problem yet. I would look on eBay for Jack’s. You can get 4lbs. for the price of 2lbs. that Amazon is selling. I’m at the end of my first 4 lbs. now. Just mt .02 cents.

So after further inspection it seems as though the seed never came off somehow? And we obviously lost her… the root in the soil won’t do anything now right? Sorry I hate to lose my first one haha… anyway Cheech and Chong are looking good :star_struck::star_struck: anything I should be doing? Temp and humidity sitting and soil is moist still

Happens pretty often if you pre germinated and plant tail down. Try placing husk down amd tail up from now on. Stem will right itself and usually pull shell off. If you’re careful you can usually wet husk a couple times and remove with tweezers and planf will grow fine.

Your soil also looks extremely wet for seedlings.

Thanks for your response… I have been slightly disheartened by the loss of my first one… I tried careful surgery (everyone thought dad lost his mind yelling emergency surgery and running with gloves through the house lol) but the other one popped today so I feel a little better and germinated one more to replace… I thought I was doing right by putting tail down like instructed… but that makes sense to me as the other two didn’t have any tail and came out better straight from soil

As far as soil I watered it until slight run off then let sit to dry for a bit then planted the seeds as I had read to do… I have not watered or touched them since… I am happy for all suggestions  I think maybe I can do something different with the replacement?

Here’s todays most recent pics… Cheech is looking like she’s stretching a bit… tried to pack more soil around the base a bit… but I’m afraid to touch them at all lol

Edit they do have the dome on to keep the humidity at 72

Cheech

Chong

And the newbie looks kinda funny?

Watering to runoff is great for mature plants. With seedlings they don’t take a lot of water, so it sits keeping roots saturated, and then they can’t get any oxygen. You also will get a little faster riot expansion if they habe to work for water. So best to give just enough to keep plant green and healthy. In a party cup this isn’t much at all.

Also get some opaque cups to put over your cups. When roots hit edges of cup they won’t like getting light.

I understand that but I was told to have it moist for the seed… maybe something about running off the hot FFOF? I’m not sure should I do something for these ones now or just wait to dry out? Also thanks for the heads up about the cups I was unsure what I’m doing just trying to follow haha… the other seed I can throw in soon I was just going to use the RIP cup same soil maybe not water it?
