**Everything that could go wrong did** How do my white widow autos and bergman golds look at day 54 from seed?

@Stonedagain2

You still have white pistols so it’s a few weeks from being finished. The trichromes are a good indicator. People usually harvest early and lose out on about 25% weed. They either get impatient or don’t know any better. I lost a lot of weed over the years myself from early harvest. I wait for the plants to start having color changes like what you see with trees just before fall. There’s a bunch of things that interfere with that but if the plant is healthy I try to let it go to full maturity and it really makes a Big difference. You probably already know these things but there’s a bunch of new growers on here so I thought I’d mention it. You would be surprised at how many people chop early. Lmmfao

when I got home tonight, one plant’s fan leaves have started substantially yellowing, I take that as great news and same plant is getting heavier and starting to lean pretty good due to bud weight.

I’m on my first grow and without this forum I would prob have chopped already from just not knowing…the wait is hard but worth it

I think today is day 80 for these girls. quite possible for a harvest soon. I will shoot for another week to 10 days depending on what I see.

They look like they need at least that much time. Maybe search for some pics of marijuana color changes of leaves showing its ready for harvest. Might make a big difference might not help at all. You never know. Just saying

Yum%20Yum%20!

your trichomes need to look like this if you want to get the total benefit of your hard work…patientce is the catchword. :man_farmer:.

I ordered a pocket microscope off Amazon and should have today.

I had 4 white widows. One of them started yellowing and big fan leaves drooping. Also found some spots that look like white paint which I think is mold. so I chopped that plant. I trimmed it and tossed out the bad spots. total weight of trimmed bud was 1.6 ounces. the primary cola was probably half of that.

I will let the other three go this distance.

now a few weeks ago I trimmed the lower branches and popcorn buds from all 4 plants, I dried the material and began curing the buds in a glass mason jar a few days ago. last night I did a taste. it was a little harsh tasting, but the smell was good and the lung expansion incredible and a very nice head high and I slept like a baby.

the microscope is very difficult to use on the live plant. but unscientifically I see a very very few amber trichs, but there are some. the clear vs milky trichs are hard for me to determine. but if there are some amber there must be some milky. these girls are now about 80 days old and seem to be in the home stretch. interestingly, I used the microscope to view the leafs and popcorn buds I cut down a few weeks ago and have been curing. they are all loaded with crystal and milky trichs. ive smoked a bit and it is a very nice high, I can only imagine what fully ripe and cured wwa buds will be even better.

Some mold and yellowing leaves, etc. so I took it down and processed. Made cannabutter today and the brownies should be ready as I finish this update. Will let everyone know how they came out. The cannabutter was just as every recipe says: melt butter and equal amount of water over a slow simmering heat, add ground up leaves and buds and simmer for 3 hours. Pour through a cheesecloth and let cool in fridge for an hour, then separate the solid butter from water and residue. Looks mint green like all the pics. The buds from plant 4 are still drying. I left hanging in garage and realized it’s too hot, so moved them inside to a cooler room. I hear the thx stops developing if cured too hot. Plants 1-3 look good, fluffing our a bit more, but I haven’t provided nutrients in a few weeks and the big growth seems to be slowing down. I took a look with my new $10 microscope and again difficult to get a good look at a live plant. Tricks look mostly clear or milky so I’ll ride it out another week. The leaves are still green and healthy so I guess they’re having a good time, maybe next week I’ll stress them out so they get back to work.

I have recipes saved somewhere…I didnt even know the butter existed until I saw it here but cant wait to make some lol

Day 85 no new pics to add. Looks same as day 84,83,82,81. Leaves green and healthy, microscope view of trichs clear to cloudy with few Amber but it is difficult to get a pocket microscope on an outdoor plant. Hopefully things start developing.

Day 86 from sprout. Another big storm blew through last night so I moved the 3 WWA under the deck for protection. Checked on them this morning. One has started to topple over due to weight. I’ve nicknamed it the leaning tower of Pisa due to the angle it grew at, but now the angle is pretty severe. Maybe some noticeable swell since last week and some discoloring leaves but barely. I told myself I would likely chop it tonight. The other two are in a large container. I planted them there as babies and probably too close. But they look good. Not quite as fat as the leaning tower of Pisa but these two girls are much taller and have multiple bud sites. The leaves are starting to show some signs of the maturation process. But again not much. If I take the leaning tower of Pisa tonight I will let the final twins mature a little longer. Pics tonight.

well the judge and jury has reviewed the body of evidence: bud smell check; amber trichs 10% check, bud appearance check, pistols have redened and turned in check. The executioner has been called. I am eating an early dinner, will change my clothes, then chop, chop and chop. We are in the ILGM harvest window for WWA. All signs are go.

the deed is done. 5 itty bitty WWA beans dropped into a cup of tap water on 3/28. On 4/1 I take a peak and all 5 have nice long tails. I dropped them in soil and you can read the rest above beg to end. Today, the final 3 were chopped and roughly wet trimmed. I saved the leaves which will become my next batch of edibles. In the meantime there is a lot of sweet smelling bud here. A week drying then into the repurposed ragu jars and in a month or so I’ve got high quality WW bud. Did I chop them too early, yeah. I realized that when I did the wet trim. Buds could have been fuller and tighter, but this isn’t my last grow and I’ll do the next one better. Actually it’s in process and I hope to document it when it’s finished in September.

Like I said earlier, I bit off more than I could chew with the 5 WWA and Bergmans Gold Leaf, And had my wife all over my ass so rushed things along a bit. Wipe the last 3?widows could have matured even more, their smell had become overpowering. After the chop I put the goods on a screen to dry in the basement due to favorable cool temp and humidity. Of course yesterday, my wife calls to say she thinks there might be a dead animal in the basement because a very pungent smell is emanating from down there…one more week of drying, then into hard for curing. Early or not, it is pungent and I must have a good 10 ounces all in. That should last me a while.
