I’ve recently scratched in some Epsom Soil Acidifier into the topsoil of 2 of my plants due to high pH. Was this a good idea?

Never seen anyone use it, but Epsom is a good source of magnesium and sulfur.

Is it going to be okay? Thank God you chimed in. I am super worried about them now. I dont have enough information and i never should have use it. I am hoping i didnt add too much. Is it going to be okay for the plants? I am trying to drop the pH down from 7.0 in one and 6.5 in another that has coco at the bottom. What should i do?

I’ve never heard good or bad about it. I’ve never seen it discussed in the forum and search results here in the forum for “Epsom Soil Acidifier” has no search results. I expect if it were bad at all, then we would probably heard of it.

If your pH is better, then I would call it a success.

I stick with these. They are proven and effective.

Thanks… makes sense that no news is good news… i have both of those bottles. I use them every watering. I have a plant with coco at the bottom and soil on top. I know, goofed up. It was a mistake but now i am trying to correct it. So I’m trying to get the coco on the bottom pHed to 5.8 from 6.5 now that its in flower the roots are grown into rhe coco and its in lock out. I am hoping the epsoma soil Acidifier will do the job. I have dolomite lime also but it raises the soil pH to 7.0 it looks like?

It takes so long for lime to decompose that it has no appreciable effect to change pH, though it does help stabilize pH.

Yes, thats what i have going on with the plant i potted with my own composte soil. I added Lime to help with decomposition. Now it keeps raising the pH to 7.0. I’ll get it down to 6.4 and in 2 weeks time its back up to 7.0 This is the reason for adding the Acidifier (Sulphur)
I just dug around the top and took it all off and added fresh topsoil. Last runoff reading yesterday after adding the Acidifier was 6.8 i am happy with that. Dont need to drop any lower. Its flowering.
