My electric is 150$ more then usual is that normal cuz growing
perhaps partly.
How many watts is your light?
How many hours per day?
Other equipment?
Dehumidifier?
Exhaust fans?
Does your AC run more to keep heat down?
150 sounds like a lot.
I run 450 watts 12 to 18 hours and figure 35 to 50 per month.
320 wattts lights led
16 hours a day haven’t flowered yet
Run my ac fan constantly to keep heat down didn’t get a good dehumidifier yet
2 oscillation fans
Maybe because I live in a trailer idk
Hope I get a good harvest for the price
Thats probably the culprit. AC takes a lot of power.
I put your lights at $28 per month based on .18 cents per KWH
I’m running between 800 and 1,000 watts from the wall and my bill runs up about $35 more than normal.
During flowering do I have to run my ac 24 7 what level should my ac fan be on during flowering? My first time growing and much more work and worry then I expected
So am I running ac fan to much is it a requirement to always have ur ac on how about during flowering what’s the guidelines for the ac what levels should it be ? First time growing so my ignorance is bliss
That’s roughly what my increase is as well. I’m running the HLG Diablo 650 Respec, two fans, an exhaust fan, humidifier and HLG UVA light bar.
Are you referring to an air conditioning unit (many of us run A/C as needed for temperature control)…Or are referring to an exhaust fan (which most of run as well)?
A simple exhaust fan does not consume much electricity, but my air conditioning unit pulls about 13 amps (about 1500 watts).
Ac infinity fan and it’s exhaust
That would not account for any appreciable increase in your electric bill. I am not sure of the draw but I would be surprised if it pulled more than an amp or two.
Hey. Does your AC exhaust duct to outside. If energy used to heat/cool house is exhausted that could do it. I put up with that but not gonna exhaust indoors. That’d take another 1000W of climate control and drainage. Warning I rotted the add-on right off my first home a trailer I paid for in a year and destroyed it in four lol anywho if not sorry for the distraction farmer be carrful with that humidity
I just looked up the 6" AC Infinity fan. If that is the fan you have, it draws about 36 watts. From that and the number of hours per day that the fan runs and your power cost per kw-hour you can calculate how much the fan costs to run. Same for anything else that uses electricity. That way you will know exactly what your grow room costs to operate.
Guess that’s my problem and yes my exhaust is inside u saying that could damage my walls?!? So I guess the furnace as well is part of the electric bill
Im saying if you cool your place with AC but vent it outside quicker its more energy used. Like I heat my place and lose a little by venting outside. If your grow makes your AC work more that’s more energy. Tne alternative is a dehumididier, which is more energy… Yeah there’s a number %RH for house levels air quality maybe somebody in carpentry/construxtion knows
*AC air conditioning
36% is optimal for living conditioned spaces, but New construction sux, the envolope on new houses is bad the house cant breath by its self, need intake air exhaust air yadda yadda, if you live in a older house congrats it will be much more healthy then a new build, cause its not air tight. Yep a contractor and the new laws are just bunk IMO.
I was scrolling to type this.
Exhausting grow room to outside of home puts home under negative pressure and can cause rapid loss of conditioned air. Good looking out!
My 50-pint dehumidifier adds a couple of degrees of heat, too.
And ur stay inside grown tent?
I can place de-humidifier in lung room or in second tent (connected to first tent).
Second tent has fan, lights and a couple of plants awaiting summer outdoor freedom. Tent can be exhausted straight to attic or exhaust filtered in lung room (temp/humid depending).
