Early Outdoor Grow using subliminal lights

Has anyone used like different spectrum lights to disrupt the light schedule so they don’t go into flower in the spring. I was wondering if red blue green… Etc would work to disrupt the light schedule I don’t see why not but I figured I’d ask if anybody has done this and if they have you know what you used wattage etc I’m trying to figure out how to do this without disrupting my neighbors thanks a bunch for anybody who could help. I was thinking of using some rope lights and putting in red grow bulbs setti g a timer for 2 hours after sunset then later one till it gets close to the surface.

On the equator a light is used for 20 minutes during the middle of the night to trick the plant into thinking the day is longer. Using different spectrums will do nothing..

I appreciate the response you know a lot of people say not to do that that it’ll trigger Hermes and whatnot but I don’t see how it stresses to plant that much I was thinking of doing exactly what you said or having it like doing 5 minute intervals three times a night or four times a night but honestly 75% of what I read online in my personal experience doesn’t work for me. Have you done this yourself and if you have what lights were you using just a CFL and outdoor flood light?

The reason I asked about different spectrums like maybe using a red and blue is so I’m not showcasing my plants to all my neighbors I have a couple more than I should have here not a big deal but I don’t want to advertise it

This is for flowering plants, they won’t herm in veg. Many people disrupt a dark period intentionally to keep plants in veg and with relatively stable genetics you shouldn’t have any issues doing this.

Far as what you use for lights, not as impressive as having enough intensity. Early led lights were a mixture of red and blue leds. Most now appear white, but it’s just a mixture of different wavelengths that appear this way. I wouldn’t use green though aa it has lower photo response than red and blue.

Something else to consider, that red, blue, or purple light will probably draw more attention than a normal looking light.

Tru I was just thinking not as bright but I think I’m going to go with like a rope fixture with maybe 6 of those sansi like flood direct type directly overhead should do the trick I keep forgetting there going to only be maybe two foot at this point when I won’t need them in laye may early June thanks for the input

I wonder if a cafe light string might work?

These are Colombian cannabis fields:

Lights are turned on for 30 minutes at midnight, keeping them in veg until large enough to flower.

Yeah my plants will only maybe be two foot and change by then. Depending on how I train them so it most likely won’t take that much to keep them in veg. What ever I buy I want to use it for my pavilion when I’m done so the string lights should work just fine…also at what size should I switch from my 18-hour light schedule to like a 14 hour late schedule to prepare them for this I was thinking like after their two weeks old maybe I think I put them out in mid-may full time.

I just put my seedlings out full time today as getting 50s and up nights and 80 during day. Seedling are 2 weeks old, not even close to sexually mature and not at all worried about then starting to flower.

I think if a sexually mature plant went from say a 16 8 indoors to outdoors there could be some problems where you need string lights to extend light period.

Right now days are getting longer so should not be an issue, like I said sexually immature seedlings.

I’m not saying you will have any problems there…but there is a chance to depending on what strain you use I put some out I think April 15th one year and I had four out of six turn and I had them running with the daylight hours on my timer indoors everybody told me to chop them. I put them back under the light for 24 hours waited a week put them back outside it took about three weeks for them to start to grow at full speed again and they become 6 ft 3 lb producers… I can’t imagine how big they would have gotten if I would had another month in full sun… just put some lights on them at night even some cheap $100 solar flood lights…for maybe an half hour at midnight or set a timer for hour before and hour after sunset… I don’t know where you’re at but I’m in Maryland and we’re getting less than 13 hours of daylight. So I know mine would flip anyway long story short I think it’s worth it to throw some lights on them at night your call I hope you don’t need to..also my plants were only three weeks old when I put them out and they were already sexually mature. I start all my plants from seed, I think the strains that flowered was 2 blue berry headband and 2 white widdow. Good luck hope I could help.

I will report back in central ca
I can see where in NE there might be some externalities that would exacerbate issues

Hey Im in Maryland too man im starting ny firat grow outdoors

Need any help just ask been growing outdoors for about 8 years now. I produce anywhere from 10-20 lbs dry from 4-6 plants it took a while and a lot of mistakes before getting there and trying to to read in to much online what works for someone always don’t work for you as in this thread. I’m 3000 miles away from him. also the fucking hemp boring worms have been devastating…IV tried everything even taking out all the hops and knotweed for a mile around these little fuckers will demolish a plant and quick they killed a 6" plant of mine last year I’m going gorilla style on them this year…also the 18 days of rain straight last year in October sucked I had mold on about 20% of my plants even with covering them up and keeping outdoor commercial fans on them…any questions feel free to ask. I always start with seeds but I have some stellar genetics and grow a bunch of clones for friends. I like the diversity in plants started from seed like a box of chocolate…lmao but you get some plants that are taller that are fatter but I’m more leafy that are more Indica dominant that are more sativa dominant. I also grow indoors as well it’s not nearly as fun I like the elements. I like having to run out in a storm and protect them and look for praying mantis to be there guardian angels…I get way more attached to a outdoor plant. I don’t like leaving them alone for the weekend…lol good luck it’s such a fun I hope you guys appreciate it as much as me.

So new grower Steve a big problem I feel with a lot of people is they’re trying to use this stupid Solo cups to try to start their seeds I have so many issues with those stupid things it’s not even funny I use a 5x5 like the ones that the flower packs come in or a 6x6 it gives you a lot more room to make mistakes with watering and I use a super quick draining soil mix like like 30% perlite 30% vermiculite and a little bit of peat moss and a little bit of clay and sand and gravel tiny and I smash up my perlite in to like stone dust size. Some companies of pearlite the pieces are too big same with their vermiculite I try to get the stuff that’s real small and I’ll even sift my soil a couple of times to get all the big chunks out and I’ll kind of like grind it up between my fingers but you want the water to go through it quick and you don’t want them to be sitting in it for a long time. For the first couple days I take Chinese soup cup and stick it over top of them for like the first four or five days once they get you know a couple tiny leaves then I take it off I don’t spray him at night because my hips will cook them also I’ve knocked those Solo cups all over the place I like to use these and then the little six or eight pack case that holds them all in place so I can move them around without knocking them over I can’t tell you how many times I’ve knocked over my Solo cups and killed plants also it’s a good idea to put gravel in the bottom so they don’t so don’t dump out from the bottom but that’s not a necessity
