Early flowering, or just right?

One each of the three strains in the ILGM Super Mix were wet on May 1, placed in their forever pots May 15 (after a bit in an intermediate sized bag) and trained to each have eight growth centers, for 8 colas…and they’ve all just begun to flower in the last few days. Small white hairs are now appearing at the growth centers. I was hoping for much more vegging before that; they are only maybe 3’ tall. Pots are five-gallon. Is it early? Will they get bigger while flowering? When should I switch to flowering nutes?

Why the wagon? I live in a clearing in the tall woods, and have to move the girls 3Xday to give them a chance at close to 8 hours of direct light.

Thanks, in advance, you fabulous people.

It seems about right. They’ll take 8-12 weeks to flower, and expect that they will take 2 weeks to get to “flower” from here. They will double in size at least.

I’d start with supplementing with extra P & K - not sure what nutes you’ve got on hand.

I’ve got Fox Farm Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom. I’ve been feeding with Grow Big, now to switch?

For future reference growing 3 plants in one pot is not a good idea but they look healthy just realized bamboo stakes never mind been hitting the pipe to hard

Dave, each plant has its own 5 gallon pot. for future reference, sometimes you’re seeing support twigs.

is the use of this chart 'splained somewhere?

@Newt will be able to do a better job than I. Sorry I only used FF for a very short while before switching to Jacks.

Happy to help. But first, there is a newer version:

I follow it exactly as written, and I use the entire lineup as shown. I delay starting until any plant that was put into fresh FFHF or FFOF for 3 full weeks, and then I pick up with the schedule. My routine is feed, water, feed, water, repeat, taking only the breaks as needed to do the sledgehammer flush. Which can be confusing, and here is the proper way to use it explained by FF support staff:

Thank you for contacting FoxFarm, I’m happy to help!

To perform a flush with the Sledgehammer product, you will want to prepare the mixture at a rate of 2 tsp per gallon of water. You will use the Sledgehammer standalone. Pour the solution over the soil and use about twice as much solution to flush as you would if you were normally watering or feeding. For example, if on a normal watering you use a half gallon, for a flush you would use a whole gallon. Once this is done, let the soil dry completely. After that you can pick up with the next feeding as scheduled.

I do add some additional things, like Recharge, FishSh!t, Silica, and Tribus Original, and I get excellent results. Let me know if you have any questions.

wow. does this mean, for example, on week seven, that there’s ten tsp. of product per gallon?

If I were to merely switch from Grow Big to Tiger Bloom, when would be the time to switch?

Also, weeks: when does the counting start? These seeds sprouted fifteen weeks ago, and just began to flower, a few days ago.

Yes. 10 teaspoons of the FF liquids, plus the 1/4 teaspoon of the dry. Each product provides a specific thing to make for a top-notch grow. Here are the results I got for it last grow:

And a bud from the one before that:

If you know when flowering began, just make that the beginning of week 5. I would NOT recommend switching from grow big to tiger bloom, but you will stop using grow big in the last few weeks. Tiger bloom and Big Bloom should be used throughout flowering.

Newt, thanks again for your help. I’m now following the chart, with the first three, and I’ve gotten some Sledgehammer and some Cha Ching.

My question is: things are looking like they’re on track - how did you decide to call the beginning of flowering week 5? When does counting typically begin? I ask, because in reality, it was about week 15 or 16…?

If they are autoflowers, then when you see the first indication of flowering. If they are photos, then when you change the light cycle to 12/12. For extended veg, repeat week 4.

they’re outdoor plants, which I move to get as much light as possible; not enough. not auto.

in future, should I use flowering start = week five, as a general rule for feeding?

That is correct.
