Depends on what you are trying to do. GH waterfarm kits do not include airstone, use a ton more hydroton/LECA than needed, and are not as light proof. But otherwise they are not bad.
Why do we always want to complicate 5g DWC? It is so simple. The biggest issue is providing water.

Love you my Brother , I still have not got the swing of things in hydro and you would think by now , I can do both with ease , Nope not the case at all , I have others doing that part , I guess you can say I was a scapegoat @latewood , it was easier to pay him than to fight my own learning ability to keep from screwing up, the way my brain is wired , a mistake is like the end of the world for me cause I could do better , so I’m harder on myself for failing than someone else and I’ll encourage them to do it again until they Win , but myself I’m over it cause I did not win the first time I was confident , I know brother I’m in therapy but this is the effects of early childhood hood trauma that is still affecting me from when I was kid . You need, 1 5g food grade bucket from any food store deli that had frosting in ti.
Add a 5 dollar aquarioum pump and a couple airstones, and you have a hydro set up. A PH pen, and a tDS pen for ppm and PH, and some water soluble nutrients. Maybe some PH down.
That is it. We are getting ready to do a review, and I have decided to do a simple DWC 5g bucket grow beside the apotforpot…Just for you.

I’ll follow but I asking for you to teach me sir , I know how fast things can swing is what gets me and I over think it and cause more harm than good . I’m good with promix and 5-4-2 time , and I love to see all you guys grow hydroponically , I’m just to slow 
now to even real with it much to be honest, I do the lazy part now , just pay someone else who likes to do it for cost and I play in the dirt . I’m not trying to be a pain I promise , I think I’m just misunderstood on how I think and view things I don’t know, I try to smoke now to be normal, back than @latewood when I first was growing I could not smoke cause of my job , well I got hurt, got fired , and got paid nicely for the next 10 years are so if I even make it that far along with how today happens in the world . I will love the info but I’m not confident in myself for hydro and I’m okay with that Sir !
