Plants shown below are all different strains. These strains are the outcome of a 5 year breeding program with landrace strains from the 60s-80s with a few specific strains added for traits and effects. All genetics shown and used are prior to 1990.
well heck ya… got your post going…
@StonedCold13 @kaptain3d @OGIncognito @Reed71 just a few to get you going…
OG created a very nice strain called Kona Red that is a landrace variety…
Very cool . With all the high THC strains these days how do we explain the potency of old school weed . I have an unscientific theory that it has to to with combinations of terpenes and cannabinoids not just a massive dose of THC . A lot of so called 30% does virtually nothing to my old brain cells . I remember a Royal Commission finding that weed had something ridiculous like 3% average at the time . I have other just as unscientific theories such as the roots in hot water and sugar technique which people don’t really understand . The theory is it forces the contents of the stem and branches into the the extremities . This promotes a better cure and hampers mold . My experience is that this is true . The theory is irrelevant to me .
Today’s breeding is hailed on THC levels, they achieve these levels by inbreeding strains over and over. The cannabis plants defense against anything is THC levels increased, this also includes inbreeding. That’s why it all looks and grows and smokes the same.
60’s eh ? Mmmmm nice . Got any Thai strains ?
Yes sir
Yes , it does all look very similar and grow almost identically . With a couple of very subtle differences . G13 comes to mind as an outstanding strain along with Bkacberry Moonrocks . They’re the only strains that stick in my mind after quite a few years of doing this . everything else has been sub par compared with my lost skunk strain . Peace .
I average 18-25 percent thc with high levels of terps. Today’s cannabis you get 1-3 percent terps. My genetics usually is in the double digits on terps.
I just know you’re in the US . I’m in Australia . I miss my Thai lol .
Good looking girls you have there well done @Dudecantgrow
Entourage Effect ![]()

Entourage effect , yes exactly . Out of all the research done , nobody seems to be able to pin this down . Life’s mystery .
I know a good Tequila pairs well with my smoke… and also a good stout beer can too…
Thanks man, much appreciated. Ben a long journey to get here. Sold everything I had to do this. I had 12 breeding rooms filled for five years. I hope i never see another seed in a bud again.
I’m guessing you might know a little bit about breeding then .
Lovely ladies! Lots of effort, lots of reward. Hope ya dont mind if I tag along ![]()
Sounds amazing and yea miss old school skunk boy you would sure stink up a place with that stuff ![]()
morning growmie… I saw you ran out of likes and abilities to reply on your first day… you will get more as you age into the forum… looking forward to hearing about what you have kept alive in the old strains…
How often do I need to post updates. I don’t want to flood or over post or under post
Post away! Especially with pics like the ones in your first post. Most everyone here loves looking at everyone else’s grows. Welcome sir.
