Ok, how long does it usually take for a plant to recover from under/over watering? Should I be worried at all? Does the plant look ok for how old it is and other than the drooping?
Also, I think the stem is damaged. It looks like it’s split in the middle about half way up.
Recovery is fairly fast if underwatered if over watered let dry out a bit. Post pic of split, should be able to tape it together and it will heal just fine.
@Audiofreak has you covered…at that plant size/stage in a pot that size, it may take several days to nearly a week for the the soil to dry out. It may take as little a couple of days, it just depends upon environmental conditions and how much water the plant is pulling.
Your plants look fine to me, I would not worry too much.
What do y’all think of the stem? It felt kinda dry to me.
Based on the pictures of the stem, what should I do?
Where’d everyone go?
Guys, please help. The stem doesn’t seem to be getting any better. I need to know if I should put aloe whatever that I’ve seen mentioned before on it then tape it or what. Please help me keep my plant.
The damage is done, you can try to save her by tying her to a support and sealing the wound, but if she does make it she will probably stunt on you?
What happened?
Need pic of whole plant please
It’s tied to a support so should I just tape it up and see if that helps? Honestly I was pinching the stem and think I went a little overboard. Dumb move on my part.
Pull her up and support her maybe some Aloe or RAW Honey, and hope for the best! Pinching the stem is used in a training technique known as supercropping. I tear mine up sometimes, but they always make it. Pot plants are very resilient and they want to grow, so take care of her and give her a chance which will also be your chance to learn something about the plant! You may be surprised!
If the sprout showed up on 9/16 and that’s when the soil began to lose it’s nutrients, would it be a good idea to add more? I have miracle gro organics food/fertilizer/nutrients that I can put in I just don’t want to “nute burn” it if it doesn’t need any. But it doesn’t seem like the plant is getting any better. I taped up the stem with a little bit of honey smeared on it, so I’m not too sure how long it will take to get better. What should I do?
Looks like it needs water. I would water until you see water out of the bottom.
The underwatering is causing ph swings, which is possibly locking out nutrients.
I don’t think the plant that was the subject of this thread is going to make it. It’s still drooping and the stem is still all sorts of fudged up. I definitely fudged up by pinching the stem too often and not letting it recover before doing it again.
However, I do have another plant that is pretty healthy. But I pinched the stems of both plants, so I don’t know what happened and why one is good and the other is not. I think I also fucked up by pinching the stems while the plants were too young, (approximately 3 weeks)
The other plant:
Looks like damping off. Don’t water so close to the stem.
Sorry, can you put that in terms I can understand? Thank you
The stem rotted from being wet all of the time.
Oh, well is that one plant a goner? Also, why would the stem be like that so far up if I’m water it at the base?
It travels up.
