Hello growmies!
I have these 2 autoflower gelato and bruce banner, gelato always grew faster from germination stage and throughout, however both been treated the same up until i move the humidifier next to gelato thats when her leaves dropped drastically, i moved away the humidifier from her and she still looking droopy and getting a light green yellowish color, i will show both plants the ok looking one is the bruce the droopy is what i think to be my issue
Checked the medium and still moist since last watering/fed…on Thursday, 5gl pots they are on their bruce 19 days(good looking) gelato 23 days(droopy green yellowish)
Is that pine straw in your pots? What kind of soil are you in? Im leaning towards a ph issue.
I second @ChittyChittyBangin
Still looks dry to me.
They were fed last Thursday 2L water with 7.5mL big bloom and 2mL cal mag…she looked good all up until i place the humidifier next to her and she just got droopy as hell…i showed the bruce banner as reference due to fact that both been treated equally…but the humidifier being next to one …
Medium I used
Coco coir 40%
Forest soil 30%(they sale it mostle every where and is call that, kind of like black dirt but very eary)
Perlite 20%
Worm casting 10%
You need something with nitrogen. The big bloom has no nitrogen. Thats more for flower than veg. The 10% worm castings has some nitrogen but not enough. Shes hungry. Watxh your ph. Asnthe pine straw decomps it will drive your ph through the roof.
So, PH is between 5.5 and 6.5 checked before watering, just followed the foxfarm trio feeding schedule frequency per say, they recommend you to use the big bloom first.
Howdy
What are you checking pH with? ![]()
While it is making leaves ,transitioning to flowering I keep feeding veg nutrients.
@ChittyChittyBangin the Grow Big is the nitrogen nutrient of the trio if thats what @D1hunned is using. I’m sure you knew that already i just wanted to offer some help since all i ever do is ask
.
Yes indeed, but the trio sequence starts with big bloom for the first 2 weeks then add the grow big…
You are correct…
I better just stick to asking questions
.
Here is what I just posted about humidifier placement on another tread this morning.
A lot of cheaper humidifiers will not work well if the humidity is above 50%. The mist doesn’t dissipate well especially in a small area. This can result in the moisture collecting on the leaves and not letting them breathe.
AC Infinity has a small humidifier that can set outside the tent and the discharge can be piped into the tent. I bought one last spring, but have not used it yet. I think others here use this humidifier, maybe someone has firsthand experiences.
I would definitely move the humidifier into the lung room and see if the leaves perk back up.
Mines it’s vivosun and i have not seen anything negative about it but I will definitely consider your theory…thanks!!!
Sure no problem! Not sure what type of humidifier that is. The problem with a lot of mist type humidifiers is that they rely on the ambient air to be somewhat dry. This will allow the mist to dissipate onto the air quickly. When the the humidity is about 55% or so, and you are trying for say 70% the mist doesn’t evaporate completely before it settles on the leaves. The result is the same as the plants constantly being in fog if outdoors. I have had this problem firsthand, and moving the humidifier to just outside the tent’s inlet fixed the problem.
The FF nutes are outside of my experience, so I am not trying to say anything about that.
Never thought of that, will try it asap…thanks a whole lot…
40% coco & 30% soil. Your problems are just beginning!
It’s a very bad idea to mix that much cocoa in soil. You’re going to have pH problems out the ying yang. Been there done that destroyed a whole crop that way.
Soil has a pH different than Coco’s pH it’s going to fight your feedings tooth and nail.
I have the ACI humidifier outside tent with tubing to top of tent. Has worked pretty much flawlessly. Get the biggest one, saves refilling.
Did you have to extend the hose that AC Infinity supplied with the humidifier?
No, it will lengthen much longer. If you go with something like this go as straight up with as little tubing(compressed) as possible. The configuration I am in has worked with no issue. Bends will cause issues.
