Does the number of fingers on a plant mean anything like 3 . 7 and 9

Hello there and welcome to the forum. As far as I’m aware the shape of a leaf is significant, ie sativa or indica but not aware of any relevance regarding number of “fingers” on a leaf. Might be a slight relevance regarding genetics but don’t think it could be relied upon though
