Do some concentrates ( for vaping ) have less smell than others?

So I’m really confused about concentrates. I use flower, but my brother switched to concentrates about 4 years ago when a trustworthy hookup would make runs to a legal state and pickup some for friends. For 4 years he has been getting hooked up with what looks like 5 grams of cookie dough/honey looking concentrate that has a very faint smell and powerful effects. My brother loved the convenience over flower and how quickly he could stealth hit his mini vaporizer using these concentrates. From better battery to less mess, portability and lack of smell it was a win/win for him.

Fast forward until now and I grew some flower to make him some concentrate. We picked up a rosin press and had a good yield for first time. The problem we ran into ( being very new to this ) is we didn’t really understand just how smelly this homemade live resin was going to be.

So, I wanted to ask… is there anything that can be done to limit the smell? I’m not sure what he was getting from his “hookup” but he claims the smell is negligible and dissipates very quickly when vaping. Even the jars were kinda vague. It would say the name and THC levels but wasn’t really descriptive. I’m just trying to figure out how I can take my dried Flower and make something suitable for my brother that he can use in a stealthy manor without stinking up his place of businesses.

I hear terms like Rosin, resin, hash, bubble hash, shatter, wax, dabs etc etc…I’m open to anything within reason, just not sure where to start. And I’m pretty sure I don’t want to turn my basement into a chem lab

Odor is unavoidable and it is actually a good thing. Terpines are responsible for the odor, and terpine profiles are coveted attributes of cannabis. You can minimize odor by selecting strains not including the terms “diesel” or “skunk.” Aside from that if is a supercharged concern, then a carbon filter can mitigate cannabis odor very effectively.

It can take all kinds of high tech equipment to make high quality concentrates that have little oder. A rosin press is great for making concentrates when you are trying to keep the terpene profile. Look up BHO extraction in the search bar.

Yes, some concentrates have less smell than others, depending on their form and the extraction method used. For instance, products like distillates and CO2 extracts tend to have a more subtle aroma compared to resin or rosin. To minimize smell, consider using a vaporizer with a closed system, which can help contain the odor. Additionally, look into concentrates that are known for their discreet scent, such as certain types of shatter or wax. Always ensure proper ventilation and storage to further reduce any lingering odors. #Concentrates #Vaping #CannabisExtracts
