Having trouble finding a digital timer for my watering pump that will turn on every 48 hours or every other day. The 7 day ones can only program per day of the week so you always get 2 days that butt up against each other and you get a watering in 24 hours and not 48. What do you use?
Welcome to the community , I’m just curious why you’re going with a automatic watering system. Are you planning on being gone most of the time ?
Good luck
Yes, my schedule is all over the place
You would think there would be Programmable timers available With flexibility.
I had the same issue a while back. You need just a recycling timer. They are out there. A couple years ago I couldn’t find one in stock anywhere for a reasonable price. So I ordered a timer relay, and made my own with other parts that were laying around. Of course you will need wiring abilities. I will show it to you if you promise not to laugh.
In the picture it is set to cut on for 6 minutes every 3 hours. Also used it to water soil every 3 days for a few minutes. Be careful with any automated watering with soil, as it will overwater. But is OK only when you are away for just a few days.
HTG supply has this one in stock for $35, and this is the one I wanted a couple years ago. It will cycle on or off 10 sec through 99 hours.
That’s very similar to the cycle timer I’m using for my aero cloner experiment, but my cycle settings will only go up to 24 hours. Does that model go higher? Or is there another method to set it for 48 hours? I don’t need that long like the OP does (at this time), but am still learning all the options over here.
It’s great for setting the intermittent spray cycles, supposedly can set longer times but haven’t tested that though. I needed a mag glass to read the tiny operation directions
…and a decoder ring to decipher the poorly interpreted instructions!
yep forgot about that one
