My plant is just about done. My question is do anyone ever get dense buds towards the bottom of the plant? I have never been able to get those dense. The upper buds on this one are as dense, or denser as any plant I’ve ever grown (first grow with an led. HLG 350r), but lower buds are still pretty soft. I’m not a fan of staged harvests.
The lower buds will never be as tight and full as uppers due to the distance from the light among other factors.
That’s what I figured, but wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. I’m moving ahead with harvest this week.
I always lollipop because of the larf at the bottom.
Yep, I never do that, but I’m going to start. Makes total sense. When I first started growing a few years ago I was always afraid of hurting the yield, but I think it’s the opposite.
I think so also, plus its alot less time consuming ro trim nice fat nugs vs leafy stuff. Oil made from larf often green in color and taste
Most plant training and pruning techniques are geared toward eliminating or minimizing the bottom dwellers.
Indeed it is. The only downside to stripping them, and letting the growth resources go to the colas, is that you get a lot less stuff to process for edibles. Which given that you get more prime smokable buds, I guess is a good problem.
They will even out in the mix. I stage harvest only to ripen for edibles.
Most buds on bottom are suckers so no they wont get dense or big
