So does it matter what kind you get? I was gonna order some on Amazon that’s food grade. But I was wondering if I could go up to lowes and get the garden safe brand? I mean… even if I cant in or on my soil and it has to be food grade, should I get some of the garden safe brand for in my garage around my plants. I haven’t built a grow box yet, so critters are more prone to be able to get into it.

The only difference between food grade is that is it’s definitely safe to consume. But DE is the same no matter what. I would eat DE that isn’t good grade, but maybe I’m more relaxed on some things. lol. I used non food grade DE in my grow, seemed fine to me.
