Continue Waiting?

Going into week 12 of flower. Some buds have a lot of amber trichomes while some buds don’t and I still see some white hairs. Should I continue to wait? The description of the strain said 8 - 9 weeks.

Some strains will continue to put out white pistils or foxtail a little. I would go by the trichomes. Sounds like you should be in the window

@Riskguy is right on. You shouldn’t worry if the plant is still putting out white pistils as some will continue to do that all the way to the end. Go by trichome color

Side note…trim those dead sugar leaves asap lol.

There are so many dead sugar leaves lol

If one bud has a good amount of amber trichomes, but the other doesn’t should I wait some more or just go by the one that does?

You can selective harvest. Pull the ones that are done and let the others cook some more

I do the selective harvest all the time…pull them as they are ready.

New grower here, what do dead sugar leaves do to the plant?

They are the first place that bud rot will get a foothold on the plant. Usually the biggest bud and from a dried up sun leaf or bud leaf tip. No quicker way to ruin an otherwise trouble free grow. Any humidity and those dry leaves just fire off the bud rots.

Damn I’m glad I asked I would’ve assumed the plant is using the nutrients from those leaves to finish flowering. Is it just the fan leaves that indicate that?

Easier for bugs to feed on dead or sick leaves, too.
And
They taste terrible if smoked.

Are you back from the trip yet?
