Coco Gaia Green Plants dropping, leaf tip burn

Plants are 40 days from seed, started a new strain and running into issues. You will be able to see from the photos the issues. Here are the specs of the grow.

1 gal pot with coco, Gaia green 4-4-4, worm castings (25 %), perlite (10%), SF4000 at 50% at 30” away, 25 degrees C, 60 % humidity, 18/6 lights, watering every other day with PH 6.5-6.8. Cal mag once a week. Basically the Mr. Canuck grow method

Leaf tip burn showed up 10 hours after the last watering. Middle plant has been limp for a while but now showing bad leaf curl/death.

My thoughts are cal/mag issue or even over watering? I was under the impression that you can’t over water coco if there is good drainage. Other sources tell me you need to let it dry out. So I’m on the fence about it.

How come you’re ph’ing that high in coco?

It’s what he does and I’ve done it with my last grows. A few other growers on social media do the same thing. Something to do with slow release organic fertilizer/worm castings.

My question as well :love_you_gesture:

You have a couple of conflicting things going on. Coco requires PH of about 5.8. I would think your organic nutrients would also break down at this PH. Coco is soilless, but you’ve essentially added soil to it with the worm castings, and i dont really know how to reconcile that.

And it looks like u may have a magnesium def by the colour of ur leaves

Yes it’s basically a soilless hybrid. Not quite hydro but not quite soil. Look up “mr Canuck grow” on YouTube and watch him grow amazing bud with this technique.

I know that coco is usually PH to 5.8 when dealing with liquid nutrients, this method is a little different but it does work.

Is it possible to over water with coco?

Yes it is. your worm castings are holding onto water.

Not in my opinion, not sure if worm castings hold water but it will release additional nitrogen.

Coco is different when you use organic amements and should be phd 6-6.5 now if it was synthatic then 5.5 -5.8 im 100% organic and ph at 6.5 to 6

You have a mag def. Going on add some epsom salt to your waterings.
