This crop we decided to set up two 4x8 raised beds and 10 25 gallon pots (pots will give us something to chop early, clean smoke isn’t easy to find).
We went with a number of crosses we created last run , everything was crossed with poledancer v2 from black market breeders. We went with poledancer #1 & #2 , black garlic #1 , wedding flake and screaming eagle.
We started them in solo cups almost exactly 2 weeks ago , we started 35 of each and have culled any that were slow to start and honestly i killed a few while watering a but aggressively haha , there were close to 170 to water so i was in a rush to get it done when needed.
Today we are starting to get the 10 pots ready and ordering another amendment pack so we can mix it with the cow manure before adding yo the soil mix.
Yesterday i finished what i could set up on the bluemat , manybof the carrots had issues with the membrane crumbling sobi will have to order another 26 carrot tops to set the rest up the way i want.
What a cool setup. I can’t imagine taking care of that many plants. Have a great day and happy growing ![]()

Good luck with it. I like your thought process and set up. Nicky done
M.g.r.s has held in there for the trip home and me forgetting that it existed last winter haha , its a easy one to please for sure.
It shouldn’t be that bad as long as i get the rest of the bluemat going (fingers crossed) . We will hopefully end up with 80-90 females in the end but i will definitely have enough to fill up the beds and pots. Its been a minute since i had anything growing in here and my first run in beds.
All materials were locally sourced if at all possible some were forraged for. We used our own cannabis/ veggie/leafmold compost along with some locally produced cow manure.soils were reused and amended with the kiss amendment pack. We built a 4" drainage system using river rocks and sandy clay.
All are welcome , happy to share how simple a quality run can be. I dont have much time to spare while working but as long as im not in a huge rush i can pull off a beautiful run with about a hours work every day with two weekends per month on top of that. Not exactly labor free but a far cry from 12 hrs a day 7 days a week as i have previously committed to in this space.
Lastnight i chopped down the stinging nettle , mostly for the seed to share and add to my cover crop , i stripped everything off the main stalks and tossed it on as mulch and seed starter. Oops posted this in wrong thread first haha
Today i am doing a round of raw microbes , em1 and soap nut.
I have a order of 1/2 gallon pots showing up tomorrow so i can transplant everything , tbh i dont like promixes organic seed starter it seems weak even for seed starting
Over the last few weeks i have been using 1/8-1/4 tsp of calcium bicarbonate per bed every 5-7 days to brung the mediums ph up from 5.3-5.6. After i was able to get the ph above 6.0 it was obvious the microbes were able to take it from there on their own. One bed got twice as much calcium bicarbonate than the other (last treatment was more aggressive) but both leveled out within 0.1 of the other at 6.5-6.6 .
The sustainable village order was placed this morning, 26 new carrot tops and some more blue soak with fittings and some more 8mil silicone feeder line should be here in time to set up before i sex the babies and get them planted in the beds/pots.
After test running the way i have the beds set up with the bluemat i decided i will still need to add 3 strips of the soak tape per bed. One on both outter edges and another down the middle. This should take care of any need to mist the soil surface so i can leave the room take care of itself during the work week.
