Chinese rosin press

If you use parchment paper you have to make sure you buy the kind that is not non stick. They treat parchment with silicone to make it non stick. And they don’t sale that here so I use the thick baking mats, its not going to break the silicone down as fast as it does off the parchment paper. So I mean either way you are getting silicone in your rosin. Unless you use untreated parchment paper.

I use parchment paper since some strains act different under different temperature and I find it easier 2 store in the fridge if I have 2

So I take it PTFE is really the way to go. I’ve never used anything but parchment and I agree that it’s not always perfect. I’ve had some strains that make a very sticky rosin that’s
Almost impossible to scrape off parchment.

Same here those strains I usually leave in the fridge 2 cool down

Just some heads up Dabpress doing crazy deals today. You can grab a 4ton for $250 or go for a 6ton like I’m thinking for $380

The non bleached PFTE is the way to go, for sure it’s costly but it’s ideal.

I used reynolds parchment paper as it’s prettch much the standard. Any black market product your getting is using it to and very few Commerical legal places are using non bleached PFTE, but if you want the best then that’s what you should be buying.

It’s a special order online and you have to pay for shipping however, so in reality I won’t be using it until I have mastered the fresh frozen hash squish.

I have almost 1lb of fresh frozen waiting for me in the freezer to be washed, sifted, dried in a fridge, and squished. However I probably won’t get time to wash it until xmass. Then it will take so long to dry I won’t know when I get to squish it, although maybe on a Sunday I don’t have to work since I’m working 14hr days 6 days a week.

I need to get a nector collector, I think it’s the best way to smoke rosin I’ve seen, rosin pens don’t seem to be ideal and dab rigs arnt portable enough nor does a dab rig like - 25*c outside. We cracked our last dab rig pre heating it then walking outside it just cracked in the cold.

Look into the kind pen. I have 2 of there products and live it for dry herb and concentrates.

I’m going to get the seahorse when my hash is drying so I have it to use when I press it

Jealous I got wait till January for any live rosin

Seahorse is nice chech the ones that use stinger tips older style only excepts quartz, ceramic tips ceramic much better,or Rokin makes a nice one called stinger much nicer, heavy duty battery lasts a good bit , seahorses can go dead fairly quick

I have a question to pose to you dabber‘s

I’ve got probably between a quarter pound and 6 ounces or of less than AAA grade flour that I’d like to turn into Rozen. I could either press all of it as flower or bubble hash it and press the hash. Or I guess if I wanted to get crazy I could build a hash Tumblr and make dry sift….

Anyhow, long story short I’ve got a bunch of flour and want to turn it into a bunch of Rozen but not decided on what the best way to do that is. Suggestions?

Wash it, definitely.

Unless your going to do a Quick wash with dry ice and solvents. Washing it with good washing techniques will produce the best yeild and the best quality result.

Remeber to soak it for like 20min before you wash it, and keep that water ice cold but with minimal ice.

Yeah I’m not looking to use solvents so wash it is.

My last wash I overdid it with my new mixing tool and hash came out a bit green… gotta take it sleazy

Thankfully keeping it cold is no issue in the frosty north this time of year. I just mix it up and stick it outside and it’s more just making sure it doesn’t freeze solid :joy: the run before last was in the teens out there and it was that kind of weather where your beer gets colder as you drink it

Man I won the golden ticket from Press Club and they sent me a nectar collector!! I have no fucking clue how to use it!! Can any of you guys help me understand? I’ll post a pic later. They also sent me some sweet stickers. It was very cool.

@Nicky do you sift before or after you dry? My experience has been that no matter how dry and cold it get it I can’t sift or micro plane my washed bubble hash, as soon as it starts to warm up even a bit it gums up my grater. My understanding is that if you wanna get it sifted to similar consistency as dry sifted Kief you gotta dry your bubble in a freeze dryer.

I don’t have a freeze dryer so my technique has been to hand press my bubble into pucks and pack the puck into my press bag. Using this method I’ve had a nearly complete reduction in blowouts.

I will attempt to sift this next run I do, I have the bonus of it being - 20c outside so if that’s the case I’ll just do it outside in my shed all bundled up.

All my previous runs were ran like so:
Collect bubble hash on 25u sheet and press with paper towel to dry out as much as possible.
Place in freezer in pucks or bricks style.
Take out of freezer after a couple days (with colored nitril gloves on) and grade over a pizza box lined with parchment paper using a microblade grader.
Idy the picks arnt to big because they will start to warm up and thaw Wich makes it impossible to microblade as it turns into gobs of hash.

Keeping everything cold is ideal, prevents oxidation and makes sifting or microblading easier.
If you can control the heat somehwee use that room, I have seen videos of people doing it on the top of deep freezes that are open. Keep the tools cold and the product cold.

Well maybe I’ll try setting up outside next time I get a wild hair to try and sift/micro plane. For the last few runs I’ve used it on molding the hash into pucks and then molding the bag to the puck has worked well.

I’ve never thought to try freezing my micro plane grader. I could see how that would work real well

Freezing your micro planer will help a bit but won’t last long. The diea is to try and do it in a cool environment.
I did it this summer and it was a struggle but I was blasting the AC in the grow room.
