Any recommendations on a good jewelry loupe? Are the ones that attach to your phone worth it?

Have a look through this post, it gives you a fair bit of info [image] Jewelers Loupe? Preparations So, I bought 10x, 20x, 30x, 40x, and a 60-120x zoom scope. 40x gets me a fair view, but very hard to tell milky from clear or amber. The 60-120x (which a lot of forums recommended) shows very nice,BUT have to literally be touching the buds and can’t hold it steady enough to really focus on an area well. What are you guys using to see the trichomes well? I have a scope that attaches to phone via bluetooth, but it’s still a week out. 2 of my girls are definitely getting close. 70% orange pistols,…

I just received a microscope yesterday to attach to my android phone and it works great for 15 bucks on eBay.

I use this and it works pretty well https://www.amazon.com/Xenvo-iPhone-Camera-Lens-Clip/dp/B01A6D2JVI [image] [image]

Here’s the one I use. It was $15 and works great and the light helps me look at the buds, even with the grow lights on. [IMG_20200804_114812] [IMG_20200804_114835]

I have that Xenvo lens as well but I don’t know what I’m doing with it, are you zooming in using the phone camera or just holding it real close to the bud?

Zooming my phone in and getting close. Make sure to take off the wide angle lens. I thought the thing sucked at first because I didn’t realize it had a wide angle lens on it, lol

LOL, yeah I’m sure I left the wide angle lens on it.

Should go from this: [image] To this: [image] The big wide angle lens just screws off

Thanks! Yes, mine looks like the top pic, first thing I’m gonna do when I get home is to pull that wide angle lens off and try some macro shots.
