I just pull them out of the CannaKan with a pair of hemostats on the shells and put them in the grow medium or in the ground. If you buy the CannaKan kit, it comes with a pair of plastic, 3-D printed tweezers exactly the size of marijuana seeds. I think they’re called cup tweezers. But, because I do other seeds as well, I just use the hemostats.

I have several size hemostats. Smaller and larger ones. Easier with the large ones. I worked in hospitals for 35+ years…lol

Hey all… Here’s todays update. Got definite action from 2 of them in the soil, 1 in the soil just started peeking out, and the 1 in the GH Rapid Rooter I can see the top of it, but it hasn’t broken the surface. I’ll wait for tomorrow to put them under the puny, in-dome grow lights that came on the set. But, it does sit outside in a little plastic type greenhouse so there will be plenty of sunshine during the day. The little grow lights will be good for overnight. Also, my last seed in the CannaKan cracked, but no tail out yet. I’ll give that another 24 hours or so before calling it a failure. What do you want to bet that the runt will probably ultimately outgrow them all…lol. Happened when we had our Akitas too. Took the runt of the litter that the mom was trying to kill and he ended up being 140 pounds of pure muscle. Dominated all of his siblings.

All mine got potted this morning. The soil was pretty dry so they are getting a dunk in the creek before sunset. 9/10 had tails.
Give em 10 min then tuck em into the greenhouse for the night.

Thanks. This grow off is gonna be awesome. Its gonna be interesting. I’ve learned a lot from the Northern lights grow off. I cant wait see everyone’s outdoor set ups and how they change throughout the season.

One GFOG goes in the dog run where the red solo cup is. I’ll put a cover over the dog run as the season progresses.
If you look through the plexiglass at the back corner you can see Momma Duck sitting on her eggs. I put that there so it wouldn’t disturb her when Im out there.

5/22/2025 3 out of 5 GFOG seeds had tails, one was starting a tail and 1 just cracked all went in Solo cups with Happy Frog, then into seedling trays covered with a dome and into tent to get the grow on, out of 21 seeds soaked 17 had tails. For the start of all 2025 outdoor. Pics when I get home from work, no much to show yet.

Did a ton of garden stuff today but I’ll put that in a different thread. When done, I checked on my GFOG seeds/sprouts and here is the latest update as of 5/22/25:
Perhaps a little more “tadpole” tail? Not sure, keeping an eye on it. Seed cracked though for sure.
Sprouts all around including the GH Rapid Rooter. Success!
