I always let them go a couple days (around 3-4 for my babies 2 for big girl) and am in ceramic pots. Usually they drink it all. I know when i watered daily they seemed to with from overwatering. And my really big girl wilted and had bottom leaves dying off from overwatering and rootboundness.
Is there any other nutes I can use that I don’t have to bubble? I just want something that I can just mix in the water. The Earth Juice is not cutting it because I was using it every watering up until the leaves started to look like nute burn plus I don’t have time to bubble the EJ. Now it’s been about a week that I have used nothing. These plants look like beautiful Christmas trees the best I have done and I don’t want to F them up. Thank you all of your input.
Fox Farms has an organic liquid fertilizer with bat guano and earthworm castings. It’s called Big Grow. Seems to be working good for me and recommended by some growers.
@Duke1…if container feels light, yes…it needs water.
I read all this post…again. Plants look good a top, middle…only lower leaves yellowing. So doesn’t look like overwatered. If you have not used nutes in one week and they are looking better that is a clue it’s probably a nute residue build up.
Is it possible the plants are overloaded with nute residue and need to be flushed?
If so…use a store bought flush. Then just plain water till they start to look hungry.
Hope this helps…![]()
Is that all I will need until flower? Or is there other stuff I need to use along with it? Thank you.
@Duke1…right NOW…take care of that one problem…first.
IF the nute build up is the problem, There will still be plenty of food in the container to last for awhile. Read the Leaves…after flush, just plain PH’d water…when they look hungry start adding low levels of nutes again. Once they have been flowering for a couple of weeks, it’s a good time to add a bloom enhancer. Again, go easy.
It breaks my macho manly heart when the Ladies I have nourished from seeds to big happy plants…then I go an do something that turns them all into useless hay.
No fun that. Oh, yeah…remember to flush again last two weeks and then just plain PH’d water to wash out the nasty not good tasting horrible yukky nutes.
ok I’ll try that tonight when I get home. If that’s the problem ! How long will it take before I see a difference? Thanks
Over feeding (or feeding at all!) in veg is like the number two problem. Well, maybe number 3 after watering and PH. When I grow in soil I use FFOF and don’t even OWN vegging nutes. I might add some raw sugar and Superthrive but they get PH 6.5 water. FF recommends flushes at regular intervals if you use their products and I look at the runoff numbers to see if there’s a problem. Like @tanlover442 said: let the plants tell you what they need because too much love can be as bad as not enough. Water only when soil dries out, water to runoff every time and use correctly PH’d water every time. If you don’t have a digital meter and Standard Reference solution you should get some.
I do run flowering nutes in soil and follow the published schedule (modified) with MINIMUM values. Be sure you are looking at the soil feeding schedule and not hydro. @GreenThunder might have something to say about Earth Juice lol.
I haven’t used this line but I will say learn all you can about the nutes, especially if it’s organic. Read journals of those who have used it.
When I used Nectar for the Gods, I ran into problems because I didn’t know that they can cause clumping and there’s a complementary product (separate from the nute line) to prevent it.
