From a fellow grower: New to growing…
I’m using grow light indoors, will move out doors when ready. I’m using clear pot in the first stage and first transplant, still indoors. I’ve read clear pots are not good for outside, but are they OK for indoor use under a grow light and for a short period outdoors after transplant?
Use a solid colored pot. Clear pots invite mold and algae. Also, roots do best in darkness.
If your going to purchase new pots for your plants may I suggest getting some fabric pots.
Fabric pots will promote better root growth plus they are inexpensive and have built in handles.
Oh, don’t forget to put some beneficial microbes for a healthy root zone.

Some growers will use a clear cup and set it inside a solid color/opaque one to keep direct light from the roots but they can still look briefly to see how its developing. Make sure to cut drain holes so water can escape.
