If you decide to grow all natural and with organic ingredients and a living soil than those things like flushing and testing PPM and Ph become secondary and only need to be done if something gets really out of whack…

TDS/PPM meter’s are always separate from pH meters given their functions are different. You will often find temperature with either pH or TDS because the measurement will be effected by the temp so having a thermometer is helpful in digital adjustment of the measurement. I use a pH meter like the yellow pen you have. it worked great until I dropped it and broke the probe tip. It’s glass so do not drop.

I specifically chose the Apera PC-60 5-in-1 meter so I could have pH, EC/TDS in one meter. :slight_smile:

I am ordering a tds/ ppm tester and I’ll have to go back and look but one of you told me what powder I need for calibration and where to get it. My Sledge hammer flush is coming by UPS but won’t get till June 4 because our little Walmart is very small. I have 1 plant that wasn’t real great but it’s in 2nd week of flowering and have separate grow space for it. I want this 3rd grow to start right and hopefully go good so I can order some seeds from ILGM. Thank you

This looks nice but since I’m buying alot at once I better wait but will keep in mind. I’m thinking about also getting 5 gal cloth grow bags instead of my buckets. Did anyone decide what brand perolite is good?

Best place to get the packets cheap is eBay. You really only need the 4 and 6.86. I don’t bother calibrating the 9.0 since I do not use that range.

I have a stupid question…I’m
Literally just starting out. Anyway if I use fox farm ocean soil I believed I should wait for 3-4 weeks. Question is as per the feeding schedule of the FF trio, do I start where it says week 4 or start nutrients as if I’m in week 1

Start at whatever week your plants age is.

I use fox farm happy Frog potting soil and the ocean soil is even hotter and I don’t start nutes until a few weeks before they start to flower. Don’t know if it’s right but works for me the first time I give nutes I start with week one cause it only gives 4 weeks of veg then you repeat week 4 for as long as you veg and first 2 weeks after they go 12/12 then into flowering nutes. Flushing when it tells you to is very important using fox farm sledgehammer flush. :sunglasses:
