CaliRob’s Euphoric 3rd grow

Since today is Father’s Day and I’m a human and plant daddy, seemed like a perfect day to start my new journal.

I am still enjoying the fruits of my labor from the last grow. I have given a bunch of it away and have made two different batches of gummies from it.

I attempted twice to start my 3rd grow but it was with autos and I have no vowed to never grow an auto again.

But it’s time to start another run with a new strain.

This time I am only growing 1 plant and I’m going with Euphoria from RQS’. This is a high CBD with about 9% THC strain.

Here is where we are so far.

6/10- seed put in water for 24 hours

6/11 - seed put in wet towel for 24 hours

6/12 - seed with tail placed in soil with humidity dome

6/13 - sprout emerged from soil

6/14 - moved to tent with an 18/6 light schedule

This is her today

Once she gets a little bigger, I will be moving her to the auto pots. My goal this time is 4-5 weeks in vegetive stage and then flip. My plants last time were huge and I didn’t flip them early enough or trim them enough. Plans change though so we will see how the grow progresses and take it a week at a time.

If you made it this far, thanks. Looking forward to this grow and sharing my journey.

For my previous grows I never used a humidifier, I’ve noticed the humidity was super low inside the tent so I decided to purchase one off Amazon.

The plant is a week old since sprouting. Does this look good or is there any adjustments I should make?

Would love to hear your thoughts magic man @merlin44, I was going through your journal looking for your humidity settings.

Your numbers look very good to me. I shoot for 80 - 85 F. I do have a dehumidifier for those months of high humidity.

I have used a humidifier in the past when rH dropped below 50%. These days, other than seedling stage, I no longer worry about low humidity. The only reason that I control the high humidity is to minimize mold and mildew issues.

At times the humidity in my grow room drops below 20%. My canopy is dense enough that I think that a microclimate is formed around the plants that keeps the leaf rH a bit higher, but I have not bothered to put a sensor in there to measure the microclimate conditions.

LOL I don’t know if I actually answered your question @CaliRob. If there is more that you want me to share, let me know.

This was very helpful. I turned my fan on the lowest setting when the temp was around 81 F. I will go ahead and cut it off now to bump the temp up a little.

My last grow was great without the humidifier but it was started in the fall/winter so there was decent natural humidity out here.

Thanks for the info. I reference your journal often and am blown away by your grows so love to get your thoughts on these things.

I always appreciate folks dropping by for a look at my plants. My exhaust fan goes on at 85 F and off at 78 F, just for reference. I ran a grow a bit warmer with no difference in growth so I stick with 80 - 85.

Been a week since my last update on the plants growth.

Domes were removed 4 days ago. DLI is at 16 right now and the ppfd is a little above 300. I’ve been following along with @merlin44’s post Merlin’s seed starting guide and want to ramp up the ppfd but am noticing so burnt tips on lower leaves so I am afraid of burning them more by upping the light intensity.

Thank you all for looking and hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Those brown tips are not caused by light intensity so far as I know.

Looking good so far, keep up the good work.

Thank you sir! I will continue to follow your guide and give them a little more light.

Sunday morning update time.

I transferred the plant into her final home, a 5 gallon cloth pot. I am using the auto pot system so I will wait for her to get a little bigger before I turn it on and start feeding her nutes. Temp has been about 85 consistently and humidity is set at 65%. It’s a beautiful sticky tropical feeling when I open the tent.

Pre-transplant, I used the nursery bags that @Negrita007 was using and I will say, being able to just drop it in during transplant and not worrying about messing up root structure was amazing.

Little roots starting to poke out

In her final home  she looks so tiny

Thank you everyone for looking and hope everyone has a great and SAFE 4th :us:

Let me update my previous post…it has not been 85 consistently temp wise. I have my max temp set at 85 before the fan and inline system kicks in. So I am getting high 70’s to 85 max temp wise.

You’re lucky to have low temps!

Here’s my ‘outdoor tent’ this week!

112?! That is crazy, I thought our 107 today was bad  Are you putting any kind of sunshade meshing temporarily or just gonna let the girls ride it out and give them a little extra water?

I have lights out from 12-6 pm so there is less heat in the tent during peak hot hours outside.

Well that enclosure is now screened in. I believe it cuts the sun by close to 30% (maybe less). They are getting watered twice a day but with the leaf issues, I need to make sure they are not getting too much water.

That’s about the same lighting schedule I used too during the summer when I was growing indoors.
