Caligurls 2026 Eclectic Grow

Hi all! Sorry I haven’t been around much… I miss ya’ll and promise I should be able to find more time to hang out here.

I started with the 3 seeds, one never sprouted, so I dropped 2 more. Good thing I did because one of the 2 new ones never made it either… I think I forgot how to grow lol… I’ve never lost a seed until this year.

So, I have the 2 clones that @Big123 gifted me, 2 of the 4 cuttings that @Budbrother sent me. I have never really done any cloning other than dropping a cutting in water to root and, this time I actually tried and lost 2 of the 4… So I’m left with:

Alani Skunk X Gluey, and a Banana Runtz

Dantes Inferno, and Platinum Lemon cherry gelato x Pigs n Space both from @Big123.

2 of the 4 cuttings of Sour Rozay from @Budbrother look like they will make it, and moved them to dirt the other day… so that, folks, brings me to my legal limit of 6! A first for me, actually, lol. The 2 clones aren’t outside yet, but they are in dirt, and I already started them with some LST.

What I hadn’t mentioned is that, over the last 3-4 years, I grew my plants in half wine barrels (45 gallons) and I set them on top of my raised bed gardens so I could reach them better. I didn’t want them directly in the ground so I could control more factors… Hubby was getting the containers ready and had to do some yearly maintenance on the screen house when he discovered this:

There were a LOT of them (this pic doesn’t do them justice, but I got a vid that does! They had infested 3 of the 5 wine barrels in the screenhouse. Luckily, they didn’t get to the surrounding wood. We assume, it was because the wine barrels weren’t ‘treated’. I sealed them on the outside and partly down the sides (inside), but it wasn’t properly treated. I never imagined!!! They are now in 50 gallon cloth pots.

Anyway, that put us behind schedule on so many other projects as that was definitely an emergency!

I switched my soil from Recipe 420 to Roots Organics “Green Fields”. The R420 has become increasingly barky and I don’t like how it hasn’t been composted very well at all. So far, I 'm digging the Green Fields with more pumice and perlite added.

I’ll continue with my @Roadsideorganics.ok top amendments.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope everyone has been doing great!

They are really, really, gross fr! That was the beginning too… their tunnels literally took over those wine barrels… luckily, they were contained to the barrels since they weren’t treated. All the soil treated and removed all the wine barrels and burned them in the burn pile.

Thanks! Everything looks good. We treat for them every year. Now we bought the trap/indicators and have them scattered all over and under the house as well.

I used to work at a furniture factory (La-Z-Boy) and we had a stack of pedistial bottoms that were sitting on the floor for about 3 months. It’s that partical board crap. Termites can gum this stuff. We bumped the stack and it disintegrated and hundreds of thousands of them rolled out. It was wild :joy:

It did! We are going to transplant it… it’s really big now  Thank you

Edit: Flint put it in a different pot but it probably needs a bigger pot

Happy to see you up and around @Caligurl :slightly_smiling_face: watching your grows always makes me smile. My Nepali Pink clones are kicking it along with the other dropped seeds. That UV bump on a mountain was just wild so I am moving the rest of the garden up there this weekend!

Termites destroyed some non load bearing walls in my house before I caught it. Also when I discovered the previous owner had lied about having them  caught them when they all hatched and flew out the particle board wall coverings in the basement. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth: still the reason my first floor doesn’t have walls

Good luck my erstwhile friend, will be watching :eyes:

Yeah, same thing here with the seller on our home. I was cleaning the hardwood floors and started seeing little pinholes in it… sure enough, we went underneath the house and saw they had pulled the insulation away from that spot to treat but, it was never disclosed, nor did the inspection report find it. Luckily, it was fairly contained to that 3’ x 3’ area.
