Will do, I’m regretting not growing a Gold Leaf this season, still have a couple jars left, I bought more Gold Leaf seeds just to have, will plant another next year.
It’s a solid performer in my climate. I do like the evening high and it’s been one of my plants for every grow for over a year. I just SCROG’ged mine yesterday.
I have a Crystal at the seedling stage and it might be a contender lol.
Super cropped several branches and main top on the GSC-X, she’s in a narrower/deeper/taller 65 gallon bag, @Myfriendis410
Really happy looking plant, dude! Mine’s currently about an inch tall lol.
She’s crazy happy, this is 1st time I’ve ph-ed the water an entire season/grow, and they all seem to be growing more vigorously, the bigger containers help with that too- all other things outdoor and equal.
dang, @Big123 that made my head hurt!
I’m starting to see the Raper moths; they seem a bit early FYI.
I bought a bottle of stuff you recommended last year - bt?, can’t recall right now -caterpillars eat and die, when are you staring to spray?
Thought has already crossed my mind…
I’m already spraying. I’m using garrigan’s Neem oil recipe prophylactically every 7 days (oops! make it 8 haha) and the BTK (Safer) in between.
I will likely try BTK this year, have not made up my mind, been seeing a few moths and butterflies floating around here and there.
@Big123 that was an excellent link! The girls are looking SWEEET bro!
Wish I could do it right and plant them like you do. Mine have to go on the patio. 15 gallon pots are the largest I care to move around.
What I found interesting, other than the pot size, was the part about root temperatures, and how most of the roots are around the root ball next to the pot, so they are the most exposed. I use the inexpensive black nursery pots. Last year on a hot July day with the girls in 5 gallon pots, I noticed the pot was really hot. So I pulled out the HF laser thermometer and it was showing something like 130 degrees. I quickly painted the pot flat white, and in the same spot just a bit later it was down to 98 degrees. So all my pots are painted flat white now lol. But that study kind of validates I’m not just bat shit crazy with that one.
After reading this, I’m going to skip repotting in 5 gallon next like last year, and go directly into the 15 gallons pots where they will stay. Which means I cannot get them under the light, and move around as much otherwise, and they will stay outside. So they need to be hardened within the next 2 weeks before they get root bound in the current pots. So you helped me out a bunch!!! Thank you!!!
It’s amazing: “Oh, I broke it; went too far” to “My how amazing she looks!” In 12 hours?
@DaGoose I’m impressed you read it all!
I considered painting my black 30 gallon bags white last year, wished I had bought tan, switched to tan/CA camouflage when I upsized.
The 5 gallon size makes sense for mobility and putting them under lights indoor and bringing them out. The 15 gallon size moveable, 30 gallons have to be slid/pulled around. One has to be careful moving the grow bags as big cracks can happen in soil and disturb the roots. The grow bags do help make bigger fruits and happier plants in my humble opinion, just require a little more watering, and more care if you have to move them.
Just gorgeous my friend, I loving your grow, keep up the good work
I’ve never supercropped on purpose before, usually just by accident. I figured I had to start if I’m to tame my crop this year. I’m still installing the drip emitters for them, 3 per container, for drip system, been hand watering, have tubing in place. I’m going to use a 55 gallon garbage can as water reservoir with a submersible pump, so I can ph-water and let tap water crap evaporate before giving to ladies.
@Big123 that’s great info on the bags. Been thinking about changing and never thought about the cracking when they get moved, and my girls will likely get moved around a bit. Will definitely try the bags when I do my first indoor grow.
For your drip system, @Growit helped me make a funky one using a 33 gallon trash can. It’s at the start of my journal. He also is using the small soaker tubing coiled around the stem, in place of the emitters. I’m thinking I will go with this given I will be pumping nutes in the drip line, and they may clock the emitters over time.
Too scared to try supercropping just yet Thanks again for all your help!!!
@DaGoose I’m only going to run straight water through the drip system, only add teas and fertilizer by hand. Only want to save time occasionally and for when I must be gone several days.
Man! The wind is ripping up here!
