Calamity’s Skywalker OG Grow

@MadamCalamity

It’s good to sanitize in the beginning, and the switch to flower. Good for you! The set up is a bit of a learning curve. It was a smart move not installing the carbon filter right away as the humidity you will need for veg can decrease its life.

The sf1000 your using should perform well in that space. I used one in the exact same set up, even have the same starter pots as you. (Thanks Amazon)

As for the plants you should probably switch to flower around week 5-6, make sure the one you end up keeping actually is female. Those “fem” seeds aren’t 100% guaranteed, but pretty close.

And as for dli it seems like you are where you should be, but we’ll have to wait for @Nicky to chime in.

I do have the carbon filter that I’m planning on hooking up later once I’m in flowering. I’m planning on using a dehumidifier. It’s already super humid were I live and I’m paranoid about mold growing in my attic. Thank you so much for your input and reading my journal I really appreciate it. Thanks for stopping by :slightly_smiling_face:

Not very tall unless you get a sativa dominant pheno.

Day 4

Raised light, adjusted DLI to 20.6 to test the waters. Fed them a little cal mag with a pinch of recharge.

Might get these idk :thinking:

Still trying to figure out my plan of attack…

@MadamCalamity how long do you allow your babies in the solo cups ?

Are you using CalMag to supplement RO water, or?

@MadamCalamity
I’m super interested in those clips!

Please excuse my double post.

@yoshi
im planning on leaving them in there until they outgrow it. And once that time comes I will probably coat them in mykos, maybe cut the lower roots to encourage growth outward… I refuse to use solo cups. These are very flexible reusable solo cups that I use before transplanting my veggie seedlings. Once it’s outgrown I will transplant them into a 2 gallon container then once bound they will go to 7 gallon fabric pots with heavily amended FFHF with mother earths(?) 1/2” perlite.

@Low
I don’t use RO water I use zero water, and to compensate for the zero ppm I add cal mag.

It’s okay! I’ve never used them before idk if they would be worth it or not…might be worth a shot tho :woman_shrugging:

I’ve seen a couple others here use clips, with good results. Still have to use some string/ restraints…

I know @OldGypsy ordered some.

:woman_facepalming::joy: well I totally didn’t make sense.
I meant to say I use very flexible nursery pots.

I thought you had very special solo cups that you simply refuse to use lol

They should be here tomorrow. @CalamityJane @Low I may be a little to far along to use them though, have to see. But definitely using next grow. :v:

The lst clips work great. I have a 3d printer and printed up some clips and man they r sweet. Way easier than string and knots lol

Big paper clips and wire cutters make nice long hooks long enough to hold down the 2 nodes for mainling , let 1 or 2 nodes grow out , top again but crop them instead of just bending ?

Not sure if you tagged the right ‘Calamity’ there but I’ve never even seen these clips before.
There’s no reason why they won’t work, I suppose. I just use like rubber coated wire/plant ties to LST mine - I’d say you wouldn’t have as much control over exactly what angle you can bend the branches to using the clips, unless they are adjustable?

@kaptain3d have you ever seen these clips before? Any feedback? :point_down:

Yes, I’ve seen a lot of growers using them and loving them. I think @CoyoteCody can even print some custom made… :wink:
Myself, personally, I prefer to use the coated wire to guide the branches/stems where I want them to go… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Oops. Sorry @MadamCalamity They have adjustable ones. I only bought the 90* ones.
