Thx @Ragnar… Is it better to have soil w/ gnats or have it without beneficial bacteria? What do u do, add mutes to the soil after it has been sterilized to boost it back up ?

I personally do not sterilize soil for plants , only for mushrooms …
The thing with sterile substrate is this…because it is sterile, there is nothing to fight the bad guys from coming back…
The pests are always first to comeback then…

If you do a low and slow I think would it would not kill organisms as bad as 350 would.
I think I will experiment some on my next grow.

Lol, You don’t want to overcook your meal anyways, it is just something I learned while researching mushroom cultivation, man those mushrooms guys are like mad scientists …

Btw I didn’t have any gnats until I transplanted. I dampened the soil layers as I put the soil in but the gnats appeared within 12 hours. Not quite a damp environment…
IMO they were already active in the un-opened bags of soil before I opened them.

I was thinking about that big old lobster pot we use for… Well you know.
Maybe I could do it up in that on the grill. Otherwise flipping it with the burger flipper is gonna be tough lol

My plan is to start with 1 maybe 2 plants… So I may just wing it, maybe put up some fly paper to hang in tent?.. I sent cash for seeds before I found this site and it’s been 2 weeks and I have heard nothing… Still need to buy more equipment yet anyway… Thx to we’ve time for their input
