Bud wash? Is it beneficial to quality of harvest?

Until you try it, your thinking is only speculation. So try it and prove it to yourself. I know it is the best way to start the chopping and dry/cure process.

Me and you 4 bucket bro!

It’s truly one of the things that is counter intuitive until you try it and do it. Then you’re like " Holy F%$#, how did I not know or do this before?" I would suggest the same thing as above except instead of doing just 1 bud, try doing enough for a dried and cured 1/2 oz. That way you can compare to another unwashed 1/2 oz for a better comparison. Let us know what you think. I predict that in the future that you will be telling others about the difference it makes and how you would never go back to unwashed. Good luck!

Good for you but i don’t think it’ll make a difference
Edit.. i might try it someday like I’ve thought about it before and i just think it’s like the whole flushing and gow people leave it in the dark for the last week it’s personal preference and grower choice

Whatever dude Do you and “We” will continue to do what we know works.

Right on bro exactly:)

Some people say the same thing about curing. They think that once it’s dried, it’s done. Then you do a 6-8 week cure and you are like oh, now I get it…lol All good, no one is forcing anyone to do anything. Just trying to share a little knowledge and experience.

Hell yeah i get it:) and mine gets there eventually but i start smoking like 2 weeks before harvest haha

I’ve done a wash - actually, more like a shower - when some post-chop amnesia haze buds that I probably put in jars too soon got some fungal growth. I spead ‘em out on a large paper plate and generously spritzed them 2-3 times with a spray bottle and a dilute solution of H2O2/H20, making sure to cover all surfaces. I let them air-dry in between and after applications, completely eliminating the funk and salvaging several ounces of tasty, potent flower. So yeah, I’m a believer, and I’ll be spraying or washing future crops, mainly for the antiseptic/disinfection properties.

I’m a vaper, not a smoker, so I kinda chuckle at the puffers who cringe over bugs and skin cells while ignoring all the carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, benzene, and tar they’re inhaling. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I totally understand the anticipation…lol

Glad to hear you were able to save part of your harvest that way! It’s so disheartening when you have put the time, love, care, effort, and all the other things that we do for the entire life cycle of the grow, just to have it go sideways because of bugs, bud rot, fungus, disease, mildew, or whatever else.

I caught it early and saved virtually all of it. Only tossed a few buds that appeared beyond redemption.

Easier to copy and paste than to type it

There are no absolutes. Washed or not, any contaminant exposure depends upon how you’re consuming cannabis. If you’re smoking it, washed or unwashed, you’re also consuming a shitload of harmful combustion byproducts - benzene, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, carcinogenic tars, chemical byproducts from rolling papers, etc.

FWIW, I favor bud washing, I still occasionally smoke while accepting the inherent risks, but vaping dry weed at 380 degrees Fahrenheit is my preferred consumption method.

Absolutely.

I normally do dabs myself from oil extracted from my plants.

One thing nobody mentions is increased shelf life of disinfected flower.

If anyone wants come come and check out my grow and let me know how I’m doing I’d appreciate it My second year of growing

I just did:) it’s looking good man good job

Thats another reason getting bud mold!

@Fritzy @PeeWee66

Just the opposite, actually. It’ll prevent mold from developing and it’ll kill any that’s present if you catch it early.
