Brown spots, necrosis at canopy

4-5 weeks into flower, Strawberry Gorilla Auto.

I suspect Calcium deficiency, but its only showing at the canopy, so maybe not?

Feels like these symptoms appear as the buds develop. Lower tops are showing small brown spots on the upper fan leaves. As if the flowers deplete nearby leaves of some nutrients it needs.

This happened to me in DWC and soil.

Both were drinking more than eating raising the TDS, then the PH was slightly off. I was running 5.8-5.9 the whole grow but 5.6-5.7 during flower seemed to have stopped it. That and of course monitoring how much it’s drinking vs eating.

That was my experience, it was every grow. The test plant showed really good results from the change anyway.

I am a beginner, and have only used soil in pots before, and therefor never even bothered with PH. Now in Autopots, still with soil, I have checked PH using the strips. I feel like i am around 6.3 both in reservoir and in the tray.

Maybe try to lower that some for the reservoir? Might need to get myself a nice ph/ec meter, at least to be able to check when problems arise.

They are otherwise looking pretty healthy and strong, and I am not super worried as of yet.

It all really depends on your situation, they have you fill out a " support ticket" which covers all the basics around here somewhere.

The TDS/PPM of the soil and feed water, as well as watering until run-off to check the TDS/PH of the soil is important. Once you do that change your feed PPM and PH based on the results to keep it within range based on your soil type and growth stage.

I started with soil, but found DWC to be much easier to maintain and keep in range for me. So I run DWC now with 1 in soil to learn. Overall, mine always started having issues right after they started flowering and only got worse until it made what would be a nice harvest into a mediocre one, in quality and yield. From your photo, It looks exactly like what mine looked like during these issues I experienced.

Good luck!
