I’d like to use a brass bulkhead because I’m worried about plastic ones breaking or leaking.
Brass or stainless is okay, anything else like black pipe, galvanized, isn’t. They leach things into the water.

That would be a huge cost.
The current culture bulkheads are worth every penny. I have never had one leak. Only leak I heard of on current culture bulkheads is from someone not gluing the pipe into the fitting. Which can be glued with pvc to abs glue. Prime first with purple primer.
