Those look awsome! The light intensity has alot to do with density dont it? Ive bought some before that the nugs where like little rocks, then ive grown some outside that the nugs looked and felt like coton candy🙄.
Thats really cool man, not everyone puts any thought into taking care of your neighbors. Im kind of a hermit lol. Neighbors are just barely in walking distance and ive always loved the peace and quiet but i think id make an exception for you bud lol. Aint never met a bud or a cookie i didn’t like😅.
I stumbled across your grow looking at 2x2s and just trying to learn haha. This is my first grow inside, id love an imput from an extra set of eyes. @Bunger64 has been with me since germination haha.
Looks good grow bro! Going to be a nice canopy of buds there!
Sad news tonight. Had to cull the Orion F1, I felt like all of a sudden, she just stopped growing after popping out. So upon further inspection with tweezers, I found her tap root wrapped up in the seed shell she came out of. Bluh! So I dropped another F1!
Zkittlez is looking good after flipping her right side up.
Solid
So after a 10 hour soak in 3 part water 1 part hydrogen peroxide, we have a tail, and the F1 is in dirt.
Good morning, Growmies!
Decided to move zkittlez in her forever tent to start adjusting being out of the dome. Her DLI in the dome was about 22. Lowered it to about 19 in the tent to get her to stretch up some.
Gives F1 the sprout dome all to herself. I lowered the intensity in the dome some as well as 250 par over 24 hours is 22 so cut it to about 16. Lights are only on 20% in the dome. Getting the feeling the dome would be more helpful with clones, as I want to get air flow to these seedlings right away. I dont feel like I will keep seedlings in there long.
I agree with you on the domes i use them for the humidity once they have some green showing i take the cover off. Low light is still critical. I found that humidity is my friend for my cloning also. Same concept root growth is important low light some humidity I also have a heating pad under my tub that they all sit in.
I was trying to figure the picture out but its your probe sticking through the cup. My covers are smaller and I have used that as a gage also if the sprout touches the dome shes ready to be free.
I know we are doing things differently but the same if that makes sence
I dont water my sprouts the domes get the moisture from the soil
It definitely makes sense! It’s amazing how we all grow different, but the same in a lot of ways. Keeping VPD about .6 right now for her. In the dome, it can get as low as .00, but stays about .2-.4, which can cause dampening if not careful on seedlings from what I have read on plant growth.
See I have to be careful to much extra information can push my brain in to lock down then ill need to be flushed
lol.
So ill go see what my vpd readings are
! All i ever do is take in information. Lol, knowledge is power! Yeah, VPD in Mother Nature is never perfect, so I have noticed a lot of growers not stressing it as much. But I’m very numbers and scientifically driven with my OCD so I spent about a week or more learning nothing but VPD.
My app that i use some Growmies cant get it to work on their phones mines a basic android but my tent buddy app is simple enough for my brain was just trying to figure it out. You add your numbers to it and it shows you where you should be.
We might have chatted about this already but maybe not if so not on purpose lol
I don’t think we have but I never mind chatting about passions. Remember to get your true VPD your leaf surface temperature is an important number. LED normally keeps your leaf surface temp about -2° to -3° cooler than room temp. And MH and HPS will have your leaf surface temp higher meaning the VPD under just 2 different lights can change the plant.
Yes I also have a infrared temp reader so I can kind of tune in to the leaf temp.
Yes only using led lights
It’s probably the most important tool in reading vpd. Even emissivity settings on your thermometer can play a roll, but that’s diving deep.
Early seedlings I have researched to start around .6 then increaee to .9-1.0 for veg, then 1.2 for early flower, then 1.4-1.5 for late flower.
Yes I would get lost in it going to deeply, understanding enough to be dangerous but only a little
Yeah don’t get into to much trouble! Lol
Basics 101. Lol
Lower vpd = more moisture in air and plant doesn’t have to transpire as much to stay cool so they will drink less water.
Higher vpd = less moisture in air so the plant is drinking and transpiring more water from roots to stay cool. Also good for bud development, rot and mold prevention.
Morning Growmies!
Orion F1 should be getting close to popping her head out of the dirt. Zkittlez seems to be adapting to her new environment well, and it looks like the 2nd node is starting to sprout.
Looks like she’s off to a good start!
