Just managed to find some on eBay, not sure why I was fringing it so hard before hand. 10x8g 62% for £13. Not sure how good that is, probably works out about $20usd.
So how long does an 8g pack last for? Say I slow dry to about 65-70%, then cure in half full mason jars (mine are about a litre or so, in size, not home atm), with a 8g pack in. How long will the packet last for?
Also i have the issue that is my natural RH is constantly above 60 sometimes more. Atm my outside humidity is 83% (thanks Google) I can only guess my rooms at home will be high 30s.
My room humidity is currently at 74% and I just checked on my buds and they have crept up to 70%. So thinking if your paper bag trick I scrunched up a big piece of that Amazon packing paper, and chucked a piece in both my jars, hopefully that will suck a bit out overnight.
Im doing my second half of my first harvest tomorrow, so hopefully my packs will be here just in time.
it’s tough to get them down to the high 50’s when the room is in the mid 70’s. I have the same exact issue here. Make sure you vent the bag occasionally and toss the bud so it doesn’t lay on one side. My bag is venting right now and I need to go close it up again! I figure it’s going to take me a few extra days to get it down far enough, though all my reading leads me to believe that not rushing the drying is a good thing!
I’ve been venting 2 or 3 times a day, gently rotating the jar to mix the buds up. But with no humidity medium like bovida, it seems my ‘burping’ is slowly rising the %.
Ive not put the bud in a bag, as my jars are just under half full, I’d screwed up a strip of amazon packing paper in to a ball, and put that in the closed jars. If I was to leave them open, for any leant of time the humidity in the jars would rise to RH. So Im hoping a few days of swapping fresh paper into the jar will bring it down some what.
One of the jars is being turned to oil tomorrow, but I’m keeping the second jar just to practice on. The weed is shit, I dried it too fast and too much, in my ‘bud rot’ panic . Some smell has returned, but it’s hardly a ‘green’ smell.
They smelt very good before my emergency harvest, they wad about a week away from the cop, looked and smelt very good. Found rot in one bud, so decided to crop the lot, down to the scrog. 3 weeks later all the buds from under the scrog level are ready. They have been on the dark for over 24h now (with fans on), and will be harvested tomorrow at some point.
