BlueLab Soil pH Pen any good?

I was wondering if anyone on here uses this particular Pen and if so is it worth the hefty price?Or do you recommend a cheaper or free alternative to test the soil?Any info is appreciated as I am super new to growing.

Bluelab products are great. Apera is another high-quality alternative. I have an Apera PC60, which measures both pH and PPM.

I use this growing in soil…
If i would grow in any other medium i would not save money on a ph meter…

I’d go apera as blue lab will not stand by their warranty

So I’ve heard.I bought one off Amazon a week ago and it failed to come with the calibration solution.I haven’t heard back from them yet so I can believe the warranty will be the same run around.Amazon reviews are saying exactly what you stated.Gonna send it back. Thanks

Amazon claims the manufacturer should claim warranty, manufacture claims amazon owns it

You can calibrate with vinegar to. Just look up the PPM’s for it and set.

I own the Apera PH20. They have very good customer service, they answer emails
about their products and will help you out if you’re having problems.

The Calibration IS a headache because of the instruction card being vague but you can find
at least 3 vids on EweTube that will guide you through with ease.

AND they are water proof if you’re anywhere as klutzy as I am.

I think most use a standard ph pen for liquid and not a soil ph pen.
You would test the run off from soil or the nutrient water before feeding with the ph pens everyone is mentioning.

Might be best to show the product you are asking about. Soil ph tester is different than one for liquid.

You’re absolutely correct…Pic added.I should’ve mentioned that my BlueLab is a direct to soil pH pen.Sorry everyone I’m new to the grow game.I do own the Apera AI311 for pH…which is great but really wanted something that would make soil check light work since I am short on time bc of long work days.Seems like testing runoff would be the cheaper and preferred method so far.
