TONIGHT. or I will have height issues. hoping i can snake the prime sites a few more inches before letting them all go up up and away.
Oh, and on your sprayer, I think some of the others on here that use those modify the nozzle so it sprays better and doesn’t clog as easy.
i think maybe it was defective. i suspect an air leak- it didn’t hold pressure very long. not sure if i want to exchange or try something else. i put a question up on amazon and will see what others have to say.
Terrible idea #476.
now i know why people use shopvacs or pump out the water runoff. carrying a large saucer of water to the sink is like a bad gameshow challenge. disaster waiting to happen when the grow is in your bedroom. tomorrow i buy a shop vac. i may take out the bottom shelf and lower everything 6".
Lol yep that’s a game I hate playing…have a 5 gallon bucket right there to dump them in and then carry the bucket when done.
i wouldn’t trust myself to hit the bucket. i need a bathtub. my next build is going to have a shower pan in it.
i’m gonna end up with a whole new house just to accommodate the danged plants.
NOW you’re getting the idea!
You can get a small shop vac for about 20-30 bucks…and carpet shampooers are about the same to rent.
Day 66 Total
Day 2 from Flip
Feeding every day, AN nutes at 75% in coco. interestingly, NONE of the stems are purple any longer, so i did have a minor deficiency almost the entire grow.
I bought a miniature shopvac. Took out a shelf. Dropped the plants back down 6". I redid the Scrog, which is alot of manhandling for two days, but they’ve bounced back before. the scrog net this time around was kind of a mess, but… let’s see.
I got the inline fan today to force cooler air from the hallway in but i’m tiiiiired. bumped the light up another few %, so tomorrow may need to hook it up. still need a small clip oscillating fan and can’t decide on one- all the reviews on line of affordable models are terrible.
Other than that… i think i’m almost about done with the set up and can hopefully just watch them grow!
Day 67 from seed and Day 4 from Flip
This scrog is a mess. I don’t know how much handling they can take but I feel like I’m constantly smashing them as I move them further out or sometimes change directions as other neighboring sites grow out and cross paths.
Watering/feeding every day, AN nutes at 75% and today did just CalMag Ph’d to 6.7. I’ll probably do that once a week.
Using my new little shopvac to remove the water. it then needs to be emptied carefully, cleaned and the filter dried. my next indoor grow either has to be in a shower pan or I"m growing in soil. this is just too much crap to deal with on a daily basis.
I hooked up a 6" intake fan from the hallway which immediately cooled the tent down a good 8 degrees and took the humidity down with it. but. the exhaust is 4". it’s on full blast. the intake is on it’s lowest setting and its still pumping in probably 2x as much air as is being vented, so the excess air is now venting out the passive duct without the filter. the house smells like weed (is this really a complaint?). I ordered a 6" fan for the exhaust and another duct and filter. i am NOT happy about spending more $$ but even more unhappy with the idea of taking all this down, but the 4" with the filter on it is just not pulling enough air- in reading reviews more closely I now see this is common. Maybe with the 6" in there I can run it on a lower speed, it’ll be quieter, and will still pull in more air perhaps negating the need for intake fan at all. I’m thinking the 4" can go into my remaining bedroom closet and I can sneak one more plant into the house…
Could you reverse the two fans? Make the 4" the intake, 6" exhaust?
i bought a really cheap 6” and it’s kind of noisy. the 4” is a nicer ac infinity and it has temp and humidity controls. yes, i totally could and thought about it but i would like to use the nicer one- thinking maybe just use the fan as much as possible for environmental control and avoid having to add a dehumidifier and controls for that at this point. i’ll return the cheap 6”.
Aaaand. despite AC infinity telling me they wouldn’t have stock until the end of the year, the register boosters are available. bought one to see if it’ll help cool down my room. i can at least try it before i can get someone in here to perform surgery on the ducts and get inline duct fan in.
this ScROG is a HOT MESS. what a difference a few days makes. I’m not sure how long into this process i have to guide everyone to their squares. there are some lower friends I left in place in the hopes they can make it to the top but it seems like the net is really filling up. the main bud sites have really shot up too and i don’t want to force them too far to the edge of the light. i also feel like this may be incredibly stressful… it’s hard to do this gently.
Daily feeding at 75% with AN nutes. they take about a gallon per day with runoff.
Temps max 83 and night 75. Humidity 50-65%. New 6" ventilation fan and filter coming today to replace the 4". gotta get this down.
Light is at 100%
Smart deal to jump here. Your girls are alot bigger then when i flipped. That 70 days can make for monsters.
Here she is at around a week from flip. Maybe 35 days from seed
And here is a week or so from harvest. Under 2.5 feet
@purpngold74 thanks for following me over here. these are awesome!
yeah i started this grow with the idea I’d toss them outside, but I didn’t know about light pollution and humidity when i started and I don’t think they’d have survived. i also have “security” issues given where i live and already have people jumping my fence for lawn furniture. I was going to give them away or throw them out and I just couldn’t do it. i also had three different lights, nothing great, so they vegged forever and didn’t get very big. then i got this new light and they BLEW UP and i wasn’t ready for it. i’m still racing and messing with my tent trying to keep up with them. “learn by doing” amen.
i’m thinking next run i’ll stick 3 photos in this tent which is 2x4. with this light i shouldn’t have to veg too long either. i have a really small bedroom closet that i can’t seal off so that’s where i’m thinking to stick to a single auto but given the electric bill will be the same, want to make sure it puts out enough yield to justify which is why i found that autoflower thread really fascinating.
What kind of lights you running? The ladies look great! Whatever ur doing keep it up! Im going to scroll up and do some catch up reading… but i think you made the right choice to keep’m. N bet youll be licking ur fingers in a couple weeks.
thanks and i’m so ready! I bought an ES-300. I messed around with the cheap lights and quickly realized if i’m gonna do this, i’m gonna do this and spent ALL the money. of course now i know more about the QBs and will do that for a second set up, but i got no regrets so far… needed to be done. just unfortunately the costs haven’t stopped! the nutes are $$ and i just got another fan because this one isn’t cutting it.
Yup nutes can be a pita. Thats why I pickd emuls. Then they worked so… lol. I need to get a fan/filter this round. More people in my house. Last time the ladies had a whole room and i enjoyd the smell.
And the QBs are a friggin gamechanger. You live and you learn tho right? First grow was with 60 watts of led bulbs… needless to say i failed miserably
LOL live and learn 100% right. i started my seedlings off of some desktop LED light lol. I couldn’t understand why they were 8" tall with no leaves yet I said for my first grow that if it didn’t work, eh, it was fine. but I underestimated how much time and WORK this is and how attached you get. even going to the cheap route, it’s still money, and i felt like i’d be throwing good money after bad if i didn’t try to do it right, so am looking at this now from an investment standpoint. .
