Blue Dream : First Indoor Grow!

In 3 gallon right now and will probably go to 5 when these dry out a little. I don’t want to deal with feeding 7 gallons, esp if i need to bump up the frequency. The freq is per AN. They said 1-2x day to avoid salt build up. although 1.5 gallons is still doable… someone else was 1.5 gallons in 5gal pots.

The bigger they get the more they will eat/drink. I go feed, feed , water and they seem to be liking that so I have just stuck with it.

Yes be sure they are good and dry if you transplant

yeah, someone else i was reading does feed x 3 and then fourth is just water. I would like to try flushing with water first and then feed right after that… the water would flush the salts out. eh, too many ways to add things up to get the same answer.

Yep flush with PHd water then hit em with a feed. All nice and slow.

Remember there gonna stretch and get considerably bigger once you flip. So don’t try for huge before the flip. Just feel em out they’ll tell you when.

What do we think about giving a little haircut? Fan leaves are starting to touch the walls. It’ll probably give me a better sense of how much longer we need to go.

I’ll probably transplant tomorrow if i’m not too lazy.

Start of week 9 from germination.

Transplanted into 5 gallon pots from 3 gallon and i still don’t think i got them high enough in the pots. let’s never do that again. i think it was traumatic for all of us. my bathroom may also never recover.

i gave them a trim. yet another thing that requires some skill that doesn’t seem like it should. they are super lopsided. especially after undoing the ties, they look like they got a terribly uneven hair cut. i can see where it would be really easy to overdue defoliation. i find it oddly very satisfying.

I watered/fed at half strength.

they immediately looked pretty PO’d at me and the leaves were clawing. i’ll redo the LST tomorrow or day after once they’ve had a chance to rest.

I’d give them at least a week before doing much else with them. Let their leaves perk back up before stressing them anymore just yet. Looking good, other than the little bit of clawing you mentioned, though! :+1:

a week? eek. i shouldn’t have done this. these will be the smallest plants in the longest veg in history. learn learn learn. may need to do some light bending though because i just checked and a the main branches perked and shot straight up and can’t raise my light any more.

Nah, you’re doing fine. Maybe not a full week, but I wouldn’t do any training or any more trimming until they’ve perked back up a bit. Let them settle into the 5 gallon pots a little bit, they’ve been through a lot.

thanks, ill try to be patient

That’s the key. Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing. I grew a Double Tangie Banana that looked droopy like that all the way to harvest, so don’t be too worried. But what you’re seeing is just shock from the transplant.

yeah it was actually pretty obvious and IMMEDIATE. have to admit i was a bit shocked myself. perhaps apologizing will help.

Oh, most definitely! I talk to them all the time, especially when I’m about to hurt them lol

In fact, every plant I ever harvested, and every one I ever culled, before doing so I thanked them for their hard work.

Also… i got a new toy. which seams daily these days. it’s a new tent and new light so wasn’t sure what to expect for temp and humidity so i got a sensor with bluetooth so I can stop checking it every thirty minutes. although i still want to check it every thirty minutes just to look at them. so obviously i need a camera next.

Reason #234 to dump liquid nutrients, and learn how to use Jack’s 3.6/2.4/1.2… ridiculously low potential per feed/per plant cost… I mean seriously… pennies.

Thanks for the tip, Jack’s hasn’t come across my radar yet. when i initially made my decision, the research i’d done showed most coco growers watering and feeding when dry- it was a surprise to have AN tell me every day. I’ll be switching to organics next run but will also give this one a closer look.

12 hours later and I’d say they’re bouncing back just fine. wild child, temporarily free of LST, is making a break for it.

Day 57 from sprout, two days after the last transplant.

Rub a dub dub, two blue dreams in a tub.

Coco/Perlite
AN Coco Sensi Nutes with B-52

They definitely bounced back. They were fed two days ago and I know I thought about feeding them half strength and more frequently, but being the knucklehead that I am, not sure if I cut the nutrients or if it was full strength. The new growth IS showing signs of Mg deficiency, so just gave them a full strength feed (4ml/L) and will see if it helps, otherwise will follow up with epsom salt or cal/mag.

I fixed a few little things that I was really starting to hate. I put a grate in the tub and watered there. It allowed me to fill up my 1 gallon can faster and they can drain in there for awhile. I also attached a piece of tubing to the end of the can so that I can direct the water better instead of getting it everywhere and too fast. It’s all minor, but man it’s been adding up. I still don’t like mixing 3 times so I’m going to probably get a 5 gallon yard sprayer.

I’m going to make a scrog net out of PVC that I picked up in the next few days and will train them using that until I flip.
