Blazin' grows Blue Dream'Matic and Tangie'Matic

Bummer, but good idea to keep it going, just in case.

I didn’t realize the damage, but I’m gonna wait a few more days before sprouting another bean. My only hesitation is the fact that it’s an auto and I don’t know what this kind of early trauma will do to the life cycle… But the scientist in me wants to find out!

Pop another seed worst case scenario one dies. Best case, three plants. Other option, all make it, cull weakest one.

c’mon little blue!! you can do it!!

Hopefully she pulls through.

Ok so, here’s Blue II (totally channeling Little Shop of Horrors). Not giving up on Blue yet, but taking the advice to have a back-up! :v:

Little stunted Blue, still pushing her second set of leaves. I’m gonna be honest, I’m a little inspired.

I set Luna Lovegood up at the windowsill to keep Blue II company.

This morning…

Tangie is looking strong and healthy! Gonna try and get her moved into her net pot sometime this weekend.

And let’s not forget little Blue, who at this point I’m keeping around for the sake of curiosity. :v::heart:

She’s clearly not thriving, but I decided that if she puts in the effort to try, so will I. :purple_heart:

Tangie
Got Tangie tucked into her new big girl bed last night. She’s in an 8 gallon Current Culture solo bucket in clay pellets. I filled the bucket with 6.5 gallons of RO water and added 3ml UC Roots and 1.25ml Coco Cal.

My current light settings are R39 W49 B99 as recommended by California Lightworks for seedlings.

Blue II - I definitely already had to perform surgery on the _second _ of my Blue Dream’matic seeds! But this round I didn’t waste precious time. I split the Rooter open, got her nestled, and closed it back up.

She’s spending most of the day in a sunny window on a heating pad maintaining a temp of around 75°F and 70% humidity.

Oh, and as for the original Blue?
I do declare! I think I spy some roots coming out the side of her rooter!

Looking good. And yep it seems baby blue is trying to make a comeback!

Ok so, I now have all the babies under one roof. I still have my lights set rather high - 46" away from canopy top with same settings of R39 W49 B99.

My Blue Dream’matics

Tangie’matic

Check out her baby undercarriage :sunglasses:

Ohana

I tossed my humidifier in there to help moisten the air, but otherwise everyone is looking good! I’m trying to decide what to do with baby blue. I have a 5 gallon “a pot for pot” setup ready to receive a plant… But I’m also pondering the idea of throwing her in a small container and growing her as a window plant. Or a solo cup challenge or something fun. Any ideas? My second tent just got put on backorder until February so I won’t have ample space to let her grow in a hydro bucket… Unless I grow her in a hydrobucket in my window!

OK reel it in… Seriously though, I want to try something different just for the sake of trying something different.:nerd_face:

I like the idea of a 1 gallon pot grow. I think the solo cup thing is just a waste of time. But a gallon pot could still yield enough to make it worth the hassle. But it’ll still need to be watered more often.

I would not recommend a 1 gallon pot, even as an experiment. She will grow & outgrow that pot fast.

My stunted Blue Dream is in a 3 gallon pot, and boy is she growing.

Of course, it’s your grow, so my opinion is just that. :grinning:

I’m fairly positive I’m going to end up putting her in my super soil setup today in a 5 gal cloth pot… My reservation is that I have no idea how to grow in soil, but this is supposedly a “just add water” setup. It sound stupid, I know, but I just don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to soil!

You’ve got this!

I don’t wanna seem like a TOTAL helicopter parent… But seriously… Am I already dealing with light burn???

One issue I have yet to overcome is that if light burn with these LEDs. Now that I have control of the strength and spectrum I was hoping to avoid it. My lights are 44" away from canopy which is a big jump from the recommended 24-36" during veg.

How old is seedling? What is temperature in there? Did you feed her? Maybe not light burn, other stress? Those leaves will fall off anyway, the other growth looks good.

Seedling is 16 days old, and hasn’t gotten any nutes besides 1/4 dose of Coco Cal and UC Roots. The temp averages about 74°F with 38% humidity. Getting her first feeding this weekend.

I’m determined to get through a grow without light damage!!!

I’m a soil grower…

I’m watching, cheers to some great plants.

To me it looks more like magnesium. Your feeding this weekend. Should fix it. Higher powered lights tend to need calmag at higher rates than regular lighting.
