Anyone familiar with or have experience with BlackDog LED brand and their PhytoMAX lights?
Buddy has one and I’ve never heard of the brand.

Look into the HLG brand.
I just finished my first grow with the Phytomax-2 800. I had great results. I just posted the results on the journals tab. It was my first grow in 35 years.

They work but they are power hogs for leds units ! Pretty damn loud too for Leds in my experience , HPS/ Mh in reference of noise !
I saw the power draw on their instruction booklet and was quite surprised at how high it was. That’s partially why I posted to ask - I figured it must be doing something with all that power it’s using. Making heat and noise is one way

Hey ive smoked quite a bit of some good dank bud from the Blackdog Max , i think for wgat 3 months they were like rated nunber 1 unit but it did not last long , technology was evolving rapidly in those days . You will get weight for sure , but after you run HLG , Maxison , Are any new Foldable , Bar , quantum board style Led has really set the Bar high in effiency , no noise , no fans required , i think the Dog Max has them on each side like 6 maybe and you will hear the light before you see it , Times has come and gone but it still can and will do the job .
I do agree there is quite a bit of heat and the fans were louder than I expected. It is great that the technology is evolving so fast. When I start up a new tent, I will try the next “best technology”…will check in with this group first.

escalated QUICKLY… tons of brands out there doing the QB/Strip thing. Even the knockoff, lower efficacy brands are stepping it up to the point of no brainer decisions when compared to older lights.
Heck im still running second gen Bridgelux strips for veg. And they rock
