How many nodes am I looking for before I start LST?
Top at 5 or 6 nodes is when I start
Thanks for your response @dirtydave! But, as this is an auto flower, I don’t plan on topping, just low stress training. Would you start that at that same point, or are you in the camp of topping autos? I’ve read that some people do top autos, while some argue against it.
If it were mine, I would wait until you see the first pistils, then bend it over while it’s still flexible.
Awesome! Thanks @Dexterado!
Just a quick question. When you LST an auto, do you trim any leaves that are going to be touching the soil to prevent disease?
I probably would, but I don’t think I’ve bent one over that far before.
Thanks @Dexterado! Appreciate the help. I was just reading another thread on LST that suggested not even doing LST for autos. I was under the impression that EVERYONE last’s there autos. Lots of different perspectives out there I guess!
Personally I probably wouldn’t on an auto, but last time I did autos I decided not to do them anymore. I’ve decided pheno’s are better plants.
Okay, Day 32, and it is time for some emergency mitigation advice! Your help is appreciated in advance. Here is the situation. I went away on vacation for the week and had everything watered, automated and ready to go without me. Problem is, the power went out at some point and my ladies were alone and in the dark for several days . Temps and humidity were also less than ideal during that period. New growth is looking yellow and sad
. How can I help these girls recover from their trauma? Thank you for advice!!
Btw- Please feel free to add tags for people in the community that you think might be able to help!
Just resume your normal feedings regimen and she should spring back by herself, imo…
@Covertgrower could probably say for sure…
Oh, that would be such a relief @kaptain3d! I haven’t started feeding yet b/c I’m using fox farm happy frog soil, but I was planning on starting nutrients w/ my next feeding b/c I’m in week 5 or 6 now.
My thoughts as well, just get back on track.
Thank you @Hellraiser! I was worried that I was gonna be set back in a big way or even dead in the water, but luckily these ladies seem to be pretty forgiving! I’m already noticing that they are returning back to their normal green color. Phew !
Yeah, that’s nothing compared to how some get treated here.
Day 37. Couple questions: plants seem to be growing vigorously, but I’m thinking they might benefit from a little defoliation of the large lower fan leaves that are blocking future bud sites. But, I’ve heard that you shouldn’t defoliate during veg. These are autos btw. Also, I’m noticing brown edges on the larger leaves of one of my plants. I am in FFHF and have not fed up to this point, but was thinking about feeding at my next watering. Any thoughts are appreciated!
