@Countryboyjvd1971 cool, thanks I appreciate it :+1:I don’t know what brand I bought but the pack of 5 was like $15 and change…oh ok that’s good to know. I’m still not sure where I’m going to put them. I was cleaning my storage room so maybe in there. I’ll send you a pic of some locations I was thinking a bit later.

@torixredduer - Fox Farm is the brand name. They have a whole line of fertilizers and soils. You should google them to get more information. Check out how much fertilizer they’ve added. I know that FF Ocean Forest is considered a little “hot” for seedlings. The Happy Frog potting soil is probably better for the seedlings.

Ok. At the moment I’m using miracle grow, it seems to be working ok. Once I get my pots and ready to transplant I’ll have to buy more :seedling::leaves:

MG also sells a number of types of soil. Just check and be aware of the soil fertilizer content.

anything specific I should look out for?

Here is the area I was thinking of setting something up sorry if pic quality is shitty

I still haven’t bought fox farm or happy frog soil yet but I noticed this this morning…what does it mean? One plant has little hairs on it already (which is good, right) but it’s not as big as I wanted it to be…and the other has little ball looking things on it. I’ve just been using natural sunlight. I’m in the market for a light next. Still waiting for my Mylar material in the mail.i know pollen sacs are male and pistols mean female but after that clueless.

@Countryboyjvd1971 @TheDuke @McLovin777 @Whodat66 ^^ :nerd_face:

That’s a boy!!! I think… get it away from the one with hairs!!! Now, carefully, don’t open those pollen sacks near her

Or she will grow seedy buds

That’s 1000% a male plant, get it away from her bro ") you could use the seeds though? I’m not sure how it works exactly but I hope you read this soon, hair one is deffo a female

That’s what i figured! I was reading on here everyone says to kill the male or get rid of him but I don’t want to its my first grow and I’ve come so far lol…i don’t want him to mess up the girls though either. Right now while I’m waiting for the rest of my set up the girl is with the 2 smaller plants in my kitchen and the male Is in my bedroom

The pollen from the male plant can transfer from something simple as your clothes (I read this so if I am wrong someone please chime in). It seems like they grew into their sex very quickly…the pics took me by surprise. I’ll be reading along to see how this plays out.

Oh wow, I didn’t know that. So what does that mean? Am I screwed? Should I take the male plant to my mother’s house so they aren’t in same house?? What does it mean that they grew into their sec quickly? I was surprised as well that it wasn’t taller or fuller or busier before I was able to tell…

I think they matured quickly because of their light schedule maybe. You aren’t screwed, but if you can take the male out of the house, I would. You will have a small yield from your first girl, but that is ok. She probably will just be one big bud. Some of the knowledgeable people here can offer you more info I am sure…but maybe you can put her back in veg with lighting somehow.

Ok, I’ll definitely take her to my mom’s today!! So the male plants still get you high? They don’t produce buds? I have sooo much more to learn!! The plants should of been left in the dark longer? For how long? I hope I take all I learn and can apply it to another grow. Thanks so much for responding fast

It was likely the dark time was what put them into flower. If the plant gets twelve hours of darkness, it assumes it is the end of their season and they need to flower. That is why you here people say they put their plant in 12/12 of light/dark time. To keep a plant in the veg phase, they need to get at least 14 hours of light per day for example. Many people use 18 hours of light to just 6 hour of darkness for their veg phase.
The male plant still has THC and will get you high. We have all had seedy weed; it gets you high, but the seeds are a pain, and it is not as good as a nice seedless bud. The sensi bud(seedless) rules in every aspect!
Learning is half the fun…this site is an awesome place.

All of this is so interesting. So do I just continue to care for the male plant as normal? When I transplant and it gets bigger do I trim and dry leaves or how does that work? I honestly didn’t expect much from these seeds I’m amazed they got as far as they did it was like 6 seeds I gathered after bags I had had over time and one day I was like this can’t be that hard can it and wow this is where I’m at lol!!

If you want to keep your male plant, just separate the two, like we mentioned, and continue to raise them up, learning about what to do as you go. You will have more seeds after from the male to plant more if you want too. I prefer to buy my seeds so they have been feminized and I do not have to worry about one turning out to be a male plant. But now to make things more interesting; there are hermaphrodite plants too. And if a female plant gets stressed out she can turn into a hermaphrodite!! LOL, aint this growing thing cool?
