Autoflower from bagseed?

Hey guys I’m wondering if it is possible to have autoflower genetics occur in bagseed? I have plants in veg (18/6) that are developing pistils already. They’re all over not just in a couple spots. I’ve grown 13 seeds from this batch and have had 10 fem and 3 hermies lmk what yall think

Bag seed usually come from a hermied plant making them more likely to have hermie genetics. The only way the seeds could be autoflower is if the original plant was an autoflower. You wouldn’t get a photoperiod to mutate to autoflower unles it was bred origianally to have ruderalis genetics.

This stuff came from a gorilla glue grow that got pollinated from a queens dream Male plant. The grower had a big crop and didn’t catch all the males. I’m just curious why they are developing sexual organs while still in veg

My understanding is that hermaphroditic genetics are a natural defense mechanism of the plant and that you have to actively breed it out of your plants otherwise it will most likely recur. You’re essentially preventing the gene from expressing but never fully removing it so future generations of plants will always have some that revert to high occurance of hermies.

What you are seeing are pre-flowering pistils. If you veg your plants to full sexual maturity they start throwing pistils. These will not form colas.

So far as your question about auto-flower, @WickedAle has you covered.

My plants, 45 days old, have pistils everywhere but no stacking until after the flip to 12/12.
Your plant looks good, I can’t tell whether you have a hermi or not, may be too soon or, It’s a Girl!

Good luck with your excellent grow.

If it was cross pollinated from a male the new plants could be either male or female. If they are showing female pistils, this is a good sign that they will be females. Could be that the pistils are on lower sections shaded by leaves.

Couldn’t find any genetics info on this strain. Where did he get it from?

Interesting… I’ve never had pistils show before I switch my lighting. They are on the lower parts but the ones I first noticed are pretty much on the top.

I’m not too worried about hermies. The 3 I got were all on my last grow and I think it was the result of heat stress. I just set up a new tent/grow system and I was working out the kinks. It got up to like 80- 87 for a while. I’ve had really good luck with these seeds so far. I figured I’d keep growing them until i get my get my environment control down. I wouldn’t want to waste money on good seeds if my heat and humidity are off

I wouldn’t worry about Herbies either. They were generated from a normal polinization.

@merlin44 has you set. Plant is likely just showing sexual maturity, usually happens on plants with extended veg time at some point, or pretty common on clones too. How old is the plant?

They’re just showing their sex. It’s normal in veg for plants to show these preflowers.

Hey there i know this is a couple of years old now. But i have the same issue as you did, im in aus and i grew a GG auto and i accidentally had a random bag seed in the tent. I run 24/24 for the autos and my bag seed hermied i think (few years/ grows ago) and i got a whole bunch of seeds from the GG auto. I got curious and planted a few and so far out of six, two have been autos and 1 male. I know they are autos becuse they flowered on the 2nd week at 20/4 light cycle. so I believe yes you can get autos from bag seed but only a few will be autos, but they flower whenever they want really, usually quicker than the original.
