So I ordered 2 LM301B 120w Samsung Boards, a dual heatsink as well as a 240w Meanwell Driver.
I ASSUMED it would come with assembly parts but did not. Lol
I managed to get the right screws to screw both boards into the heatsink
The Driver doesnt have an AC adapter or anything.
Ive googled assembly parts and went to Homedepot and Atwoods today to try and find the ‘8FT Nema 5-15P 16/3 SJTW NA Power Cord’ or something equivalent and couldnt find anything.
Any tips on where I can find the parts I need in stores if possible, or last options i can order online. Lol
@dbrn32, if i remeber correctly, youre a DIY wizard lol
16/3 outdoor extension cord will work if you cut off female end and use connectors to driver. As far as other stuff, are you for the fancy stuff or just to get it running asap?
16/3 Outdoor Extension cord. Gotcha.
If i can get the fancy stuff at a store, im all for it. I want my light running efficiently.
Now if the fancy stuff is online, and the other way WORKS and will get me by till i order the stuff, im down. Lol i expected to be able to get it up and running today
They didn’t help you any sending bs constant voltage driver that’s for sure.
You can use standard wire nuts to make your connections. The problem you will run into is finding solid core wire locally that’s small enough to fit the connectors. Normally we use 18awg solid rated for 300v, you typically need to get from an electronic store or Similar
Gonna have to break this down for me. Lmao
So I gotta find 18gauge soild rated wire?
Two strand thermostat wire (18/2) works well for the solid core wire that connect to the boards.
You need to find current rating for it. In description it says “power limited”. That could be a problem.
If wired properly (in parallel split at driver output cable) each of your board pairs would see just under 3 amps.
Found one at HD that says its rated 150V.
150v will work, but you still need to make sure it will cover the current.
How do I do that? Lol
Do you by chance know how to tell if the wire will cover the current.?
I had found the rating on the wire somewhere and can’t find it now. I think it was 4A. Just looked at your driver and it can be cranked up to 6.7A. My drivers only put out 2.3A cranked up. I would nix the idea of the thermostat wire after all. Sorry, should have looked at your driver first.
Oof! Okay! So, how about this one?
RED 18AWG Solid 300V Hook Up Wire - 25’ Roll https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004XESRZO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ULbFDbT6W7F1J
OOOO that one is 600v!
Is more better? Or is more too much? Lol
@psychEDM…I went thru growers lights to get 1 of their qb kits…then decided to go a head and spend the xtra $35 to have them assemble and test it…end result yes I paid more ($579 for a 3 board 320w with a dimmer v2 rspec) BUT I didn’t have the headache of trying to find the parts. And have a 1 year warranty that they can’t say I wired wrong
Thanks for the input? Lol
edit
I decided to buy it in parts. Bought each board separately, heatsink, then driver. It was cheaper that way for me.
