Do new pistols continue to grow throughout our do they stop at some point? Just wondering
Yeah some are long lived and continue, especially if you have lots of light. But in general when she is done she will look done and 90% or better will go orange. I don’t look at top buds as they develop sooner, and the bottom buds stay white hair longer, so I look at the middle of the plant i would be interested in pictures of the plant, last one were 12 days ago
I’ll post some new pics later today, been busy with graduation stuff for my daughter
Biggest one is from the highest stalk, other bud is from the middle of the plant. They’re getting heavier and starting to gangster lean lol
Nice man she is looking more done now, from the looks of the middle bud your there I see no white pistols, the big cola has a lot of what looks like foxtailing, all the multiple white pistols on top buds only maybe. Foxtailing happens sometimes in late flower, and its not a problem but don’t judge by just white pistols on top buds. Your looking good brother yep love the gangster lean
Yes a good video, he mentioned week 8 nearly all the white pistols are gone, yes tricomes are best indicator, but most people don’t know what they are looking for and where, and when! Most people recommend when 90% of the pistols are orange, then inspect tricomes again top buds develop sooner, bottom longer, so a middle of the plant nicely developed bud, then look at the bud under magnification, now look at a individual calyx which is the bulbous thing with two pistols or hairs, NOT GREEN LEAF PARTS they develop sooner. Tricome development start crystal clear, late flower they ripen and turn cloudy, over ripe turn amber. So peak cloudy just turning amber. Again don’t get fooled by amber on the sugar leaf. It also plays into the kind of high you are after and this is were checking tricomes is great. THC is peak at cloudy, more heady buzz, but the more amber you allow or over ripen the more sedative effects or couch lock you get. I prefer about 10% amber, as I don’t perticularly care for being super stoned. What he didn’t address was all the new white pistols in bunches on top buds or foxtails, those are growth of too close to light, too strong light during late flower, when the plant should receive less light that time of its life. They are new buds, so tricomes are going to be clear for a long time, so ignore looking at that part of the bigger bud look at calyx with orange hair only. I hope this helps man. You can be as technical as you can it really helps. Before people use to just look at state of the plant and pistols turning Happy growing man
So i decided to go ahead and harvest today partly cause I’m tired of buying lol. They were at about week 9 of flower, week 13 overall. I’ve repurposed my tent to dry. From everything I’ve read proper environment would be about %50-60 humidity and 65-75 degrees
I’m sure you will be fine, yes those numbers are good, I never have good numbers here in Nevada desert, but all I can tell you is dont over dry, you can’t add moisture. After a couple to few days pop the buds off the branches, put them a baggie overnight, if too wet in the morning lay buds out on paper for a few hours then bag them, and if too wet still lay out again till you have desired dryness. Good luck with the harvest man
What are the signs of over drying?
Aaah tricky question, well it depends on density of the flowers, if flowers are loose they dry faster than solid nuggets, but check daily squeeze buds, want a little crunchy on the outside still kinda spongy inside. Put a nugget in a grinder if it grinds nice your good, if it plugs up in grinder too wet. But it should dry to 55 to 60% humidity if you have a hydrometer. I use a cheap one its kinda big but I can get it in a quart size baggie with an ounce of bud.
You can get small digital ones on line.
Good luck man bet they will be awesome
So i ended up with a 6.2oz yield, i feel OK about it but I’m gonna do my next 2 plants soon
Congratulations man, very nice Be sure to tag me when you start your new grow
@AJisabeast3 sorry my friend I don’t have any knowledge about it… good luck buddy
OK, i was thinking i wanted to do a soil- coco mix again and i wanted to add the diamotaceous earth to it as well to promote good root growth. Can you think of anything else i might need to add to the pot?
Sorry man, I am not versed in additional amendments for soil, I keep things simple, I always have great looking root balls when I harvest, and healthy plants so I never checked into that. I use a growth accelerator at seedling, organics thru grow. But all I do is lights and a small clip on fan, because it’s in a sealed closet space I use co2 bag. I am kinda a dinosaur, I found what works for me, and I am hard to change
That makes sense, I’m just trying to recreate the formula i used in my grow kit for A Pot for Pot. Only difference i want this time is i want to try LST instead of topping. I bought fabric pots with the holes in it to make the tie down process easier
Well man I have seen those bags, should work great, but I don’t do anything but top once @ 9 nodes or sets of branches, I top to allow the lower branches to catch up and become even canopy.(hopefully) I am definitely different than other growers, I shoot for the fastest and easiest way to get a good yield. The more you train or top the longer you need to veg to get the growth you need to get final good yield. I just grow happy bushes and they have lots of flowers. And unlike others I don’t defoliate at all during veg, and very little at a time, I remove here and there, and during flower leafs usually have ph problems so I remove those, and I still have lots of healthy leafs. Here’s my lemon berry 6 weeks into flower
I keep things simple and break a lot of rules, I have 3 plants in this grow in my 2x6 closet. Check out this beauty
But happy with this grow its all Ethos design seeds, coming close to harvest. Anyway man happy growing

I started germination on my gorilla glue and Bruce banner today, I’m excited about my second grow, exorcism with all the tid bits of info I’ve gotten from you. I topped after the 5th node on my gsc grow so this time I’m gonna try and stick with just LST and see how that works for me
