Hi Robert you seem to know your stuff. I just have a quick question. I’m using flower power nutrients. I seem to be getting the leaf tips curling down on random leaves not all. I thought it was a nutrient issue but ive been using less than half of what it says in the table. Any ideas why i might be having trouble. Its a dwc grow the water temp is a constant 20C air temp between 22C-30C maximum of 500-900ppm bloom nutrients.

Yes the room i extract air from is aircon. I try to keep temps below 27C but they do get up to 29-30C for a few hours on real hot days.

Just can’t work out the random tip curl on some leaves and slowish growth. It seemed to start as soon as i swapped to bloom nutrients.
Does temperature affect ph because I mix fresh batch then ph to 5.8-6 at room temperature
28-32C. Then add to res which chiller drops temp down to 20C. Ph seems to drop slowly in the first few hours. The next day plants have consumed up to 5L or more and ph sitting at 3.8-4.2 range.
Temp doesn’t really affect pH unless the swing is pretty big like 25° or so. If you started with 7.0 at 0°C, it would be 6.6 at 100°C. I’m a soil grower and when my leaves curl down, it’s usually from me over-watering. If they curl down and have yellow tips it’s because I over-fed them @Bjg.
Set to watching. I’ll be interested in the resolution. My amateur guess is that the reservoir is too small, causing drastic ph swings. Remember, I’ve only ever grown in soil so I’m shooting in the dark.
The tips are dark green. Doesn’t seem to be any yellowing or burning just curling down on random leaves and only one or two fingers per leaf. They’re in a recirculating hydro setup 2 plants. I don’t think I’ve over fed them not sure. I’m starting to wonder if I need to beef up the air supply. As you say over watering can cause this im wondering if for dwc setup might be lack of air to root system.
you should be letting ph get lower 5.5-6.1 is best range to let it drift in 5.8 being about perfect top offs can be mixed nutrient solution your res temp is about perfect
