I have used rice hulls alot, I just got done mixing 200 lbs into my beds. I use coco husk in the bottom 12" as well. I also add 5 lbs of Gypsum, since the coco ties some of the Calcium up. :+1::saluting_face: And a couple handfuls of epsom salt helps balance you cal ium/magnesium ratio. I go for about a 6 to 1.

I have also used it in my 40 gallon, 15 gallon, and 5 gallon bags growing photos and autos. What you got going on my friend? :folded_hands::victory_hand:

Utah State University uses rice hulls instead of pearlite with peat in their greenhouses. They do a lot of research on cannabis. It provides similar drainage properties as pearlite, but has the added benefit of being a source of silicon. Important in peat…but not so much in soil.

My 1 x Kilo bag arrived today…what ration would you recommend with Canna Soil ?

Cold and windy here in West Wales.

I am using Auto Gold Leaf ILGM this year as its a fine vaping experience.
I got a lung full of Perlite last year and it really messed up my lungs so I vowed never to use it again. Rice Hulls are very expensive here in Limeyland…but cheaper than street pot. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Well if its the outdoor beds your talking about they grow around 50 lbs of pole beans, couple bushels of green peppers, few heads of cabbage, some crooked neck squash, and a few tomato plants usually. Then I use 2 of the beds as pollinators and grow wildflowers and Sunflowers in, I will rotate to 2 different beds next season and recharge them with a few seasons of the wildflower / sunflower mix. My indoor beds are strickly for cannabis, they are 4- 40 gallon fabric pots. I use about 3 big handfuls of rice hulls to each 5 gallons of soil I am mixing. Somewhere around 10% Id guess. My mix is about 30% peat, 30% coco, 20% cowmanure compost, 10% rice hulls 5% coco husks, 5% bio char, I also add bat guano, alfalfa meal, bone meal, gypsum, basalt, epsom salt, Leonardite, Azomite, brimstone sulphur, Langbeinite, and a pinch of triple sodium phosphate, I usually water with banana peel water and a splash of molasses at flip. :folded_hands::+1::victory_hand:

You can also use ¼" pumice, It is more of a permanent aeration fix if your building living soil and or plan on reusing your medium. It doesn’t degrade as fast as perlite or rice hulls. And works just as well, IMO. :folded_hands::victory_hand:

Outstanding Sir !
How I wish you were my neighbour. Are the cops ok where you are ? They are FIERCE where I am, its a matter of keeping a very low profile.
Its still cold as a well diggers arse here so hopefully in a few weeks I can get my seeds a popping as long as Putin does not fire any hardware at us here in west UK.
Thank you very much indeed your considered reply…time for coffee YaY !!!

They legalized it here and don’t say much as we are drowing in a opioid crisis and got folks dying everyday out here in the sticks of Far Southwest Virginia. I’ve had numerous officers tell me they didn’t care if I was growing fields of it, and if I thought it could help save lives to grow all I wanted. Now at the same time, I am a convicted felon and would trust what they say about as much as I would trust a tweaker to be on time.:rofl::victory_hand:

P.S. I used to be a heavy meth user so I’m not being judgemental or derogatory towards anyone by saying “tweaker”. I just know firsthand that it makes your sense of Time and Reality very, very, distorted. :folded_hands::+1:
