Thank you. Was super surprised I pulled it off. Learned so much and excited for my winter grow. Fingers crossed all works out !!
I found such a difference from my seed vs clone yields and quality. Though from what Iāve read when someone keeps cloning clones it degrades the genetics, so technically the clones provided to me were sub par but Iām still happy I produced what I did with what I was working with.
So now Ive got seedlings popped and trying to buy more for winter grow from another company ( not sure if Iām allowed to mention where ).
Iām drying now. Lol but just learned I should be drying in complete darkness , I have them hung in my grow room as some plants are still not quite finished. So hung a thick navy duvet cover from ceiling to floor to provide darkness some were exposed to about 2-5 days of 12/12 light. Hope this wonāt affect then too much.
And wow the sugaring is crazy!! I had rated when most the pistals were amber.
After drying not sure what curing method Iām going to use. I have amber jars and bought the paper leaf bags and some hygrometers.
Iām pretty sure you donāt need any help, except maybe trimminā and smokinā.
Strain?
Outdoor I presume?
Nice work!
Trimmingā¦ I just harvested a few that were done and took large branches trimmed off fan leaves and hung but I found by day 2 they had the dreaded hay smell and they smelled sooo fruity before. And there is sooo many conflicting drying and curing informations out there.
I do have UV tinted amber jars waiting for curing and also paper leaf bags at the ready, hygrometers arriving tomorrow. I want to make sure I retain the flavour profiles but not sure how and also afraid of ruining all my hard work and $$$ invested.
Indoor crop : blueberry , super lemon hz, AF Gooey, Crash Bang Fk.
Lol as for smoking I donāt smoke I got my medical use license 50g/day and growers license issued as my doctors I was hoping to reduce to a more natural pain relief than the High insane amounts of the medications Iām on from multiple major car accidents. I also help others with pain.
So Iām going to make edibles and tincture as I also have my overproof alcohol license for production of tinctures .
But my BF is a chronic pot addict so he will be sure to be smoking as much as he can as he has his 4 plants heās legally entitled to that I grew with my crop.
Thank you
The smells will probably come back with the cure. How you āproperlyā dry depends mostly on your situation. Drying too fast mightāve caused the hay smell, but a lot of the best smells come out through curing. Try hanging the whole plant to slow it down some if your environment is a little dry or too warm. Leaving some fan leaves on will slow it down some, too. The more moisture you leave āintactā on the plant, the slower it will dry. And the longer you cure it, the better it gets, to a point. Also, as a non-smoker, your sniffer is much better than us smokersā sniffers, and cannabis makes some funky ass smells, throughout. Might be a normal part of the process youāre smelling.
As Jeffery said, it will come back. How was the AF gooey? I have been tempted by that one.
Oh Iām sook hoping it does. Crazy to say but I hate the small of cannabis but LOVED the smell of all my crop even the super lemon.
The AF Gooey I was definitely happy with the results very dence buds with great aroma. Iām positive if I had it as a seed or had a stable healthy clone vs the crappy ones I recieved and add my own newbie error stunted its growth a bit. Iām excited to see what it will do with all proper conditions next spring as itās not on my winter grow agenda. But overall yield was good despite all things considered.
Highly enjoyed smelling my fingers after chop
Oh thatās a relief. I canāt wait for the fruity candy smells to return. I never knew cannabis could smell like that. Iām used to the migrane inducing skunk smell. Lol.
And itās so different ā¦ I feel so bad as anywhere near my home you SMELL the typical weed stench but when Iām in the room and working with my plants itās candy and fruits. Lol. Iām somewhat that thankful both side neighbors are smokers lol but oh my definitely no hiding my grow.
Thank you , Iām going to try and hang the last few full plant and hope for a difference. Tonight Iām trimming the first chop and jarring to cure or should I use the paper bag then jar?
So proper, sound like my wife lol!
Hey, saying you hate the smell of cannabis is like saying you hate the smell of flowers! So many smells to choose from. Just gotta find what you like.
After your trim, put some in a jar with a hygrometer and see where theyāre at after 10-15 minutes sealed up. Then you can figure where to go from there. For example, if theyāre already at 55-65ish, theyāre ready to burp. Close the jar(s) and monitor the hygrometer. When you see the humidity come up, time to burp. Open the jar for 10-15 minutes, then repeat. When they are more stable, youāll be opening them only once a day or so. BUT, if they shoot right up back over 65-70% when you put them in jars, Iād bag them. Thatād be a good sign thereās still plenty of moisture in them for a good cure to get those nice smells back, but too much to go into jars just yet without risking mold.
Shite! Auto correct. So your name is Jeff?
So what did you end up using for flowering lights
I used my 1000 watt Fan cooled found an amazing place for them for reasonable $
Now I have a veg room with 2 x 8bulb t5 lights , uses a spare bedroom in the basement. And my Flower room outside.
So for my very first growā¦
Having over cloned plants , that were stunted being a newbie.
Yield 12lbs cured.
