Annie’s 2nd grow WW and Maui Waui (the other half along for the ride on this one)

Hello @Midwestnewbie

I do have the WeDryer. I have used in to dry 3 plants each a week apart as that’s when they ripened. I’m sure you’ve seen the videos online but if not it has 4 zippered bins/sections for placing your wet trimmed branches / buds. The top section has a little smaller headspace as that’s where you install the square carbon filter and on top of that the computer fan and that sits flush relative to the top of the outside of the WeDryer. This last harvest I did Sunday was just over 1Lb wet weight and it maybe filled up 1/3 to 1/2 capacity where nothing is stacked on top of each other but spread out and there is still some areas of the section not covered with herb. The bottom section is netted in the middle 2/3 of the floor and the outside ring of the floor is solid fabric. Above that each section floor is netted entirely for airflow.
The first time I used it I never noticed any smell. I have it hanging from my closet bar in my bedroom so I would have noticed any delicious smells coming from it. It completed that dry (stems snapped nicely not bend but snap) in about 5 days with the closet temps being 69-70F and the humidity was around 51%
I noticed that the smaller stems / buds were a bit dryer than the thicker ones and as this was my first harvest that now makes sense so the next time I sorted sections by size and pulled the smaller stems a day earlier than the thicker ones once they snapped and jarred them up as they came out.
The second harvest about 2 weeks ago same same.
This last harvest I placed it in there Sunday night and the smell is somewhat noticeable so not sure if this strains aroma (3 different ones this grow) is that much more strong but I simply closed my door to the bedroom and that keeps it out of the hallway / living room etc.

I like the unit. Would I order it again yes. Would I order another one for $150 maybe maybe not. The reason I say that is I ordered it because it seemed to fill my coming need (order early it took about 3 weeks + as it shipped from China - company I believe is located in Europe) for my first dry and it seemed that it would make things less complicated and it did.
I think they rate the capacity as up to 3Lbs total and that seems about right if stacking them in each section which normally I wouldn’t think that would be a great idea but with the fan sucking air from bottom through all chambers and out the top wouldn’t create a mold stagnant air issue.
This next grow I have 4 strains going (2 of each) so if they ripen a week apart as they did last time than 1 WeDryer will be able to handle things. If more ripen at the same time I won’t have enough room for all of them. So do I spend another 150 for a second one and maybe a third one to be able to hold them all or do I use another less expensive dryer rack without fan/filter/zippered compartments or simple coat hangers etc etc I’m not sure. If I go that route I will definitely need to think through the aroma issue along with temps and humidity and where else in my house I could dry them. Maybe use one of the tents I have and that will be easier to control smell, temp, humidity but not keeping them in the dark if I have plants growing. You want to minimize light when drying dark is best.
I also ordered with it an extra carbon filter so when needed I had one on hand and I think it was $20.

Pros
Turn key set up and easy to use.
No smells the first 2 but some the third dry but not like it would be just hanging in the closet on hangers.

Cons
Limited to about 2-3 plants depending on how big they get or I think 3 Lbs
Filter will need replaced at some point and I don’t know how long that it is supposed to last and if you don’t have a replacement filter it will smell delicious to all that enter.
Somewhat pricey.

I’m glad I bought it and if I had it to do over again I would buy it as it made it real easy.

Hope this helps and if you have any more question shout out to me and HAGD
