So my question is how do you juggle keeping humidity down in flower when constantly exchanging more humid air. Like on a rainy or even a humid day.
My Tent is in a garage(lung room) which i have 2 dehumidifiers, a 35 and 20lt/day and an aircon. I can just keep humidity levels around 50% running both dehuey full time. The tent has an intake and axhaust fan. I want to be able to control humidity down to 40% at least. i assume my only option is to go bigger dehumidifiers. ive been looking into desiccant dehumidifiers im not sure if these have better drying ability below 50%
any tips would be much appreciated
Thanks
Unless you can control the temp in your garage to the ambient temp you want to pull into the tent, there is not much you can do.
Best is to have a fan inside the tent to keep an air flow through the canopy, with an exhaust fan.
In summer, I’ve had humidity as high as 60% in my tent in late flower but I keep fans circulating air inside the tent. I also will half way close the intake tent vent. If you have a temp/humidity reader inside the tent you can see if it needs adjustment.
As long as you have air circulation inside the tent you will be fine
Yeah , that sounds like a tough one , You might consider frame off a room inside the garage an control temperature an humidity in the room. Build it big enough to place tent an dehumidifier. Just my thoughts good luck
Garage is too prone to outside conditions controlling its climate. @kellydans is spot on. Create a new space in there or move into a climate controlled environment. Otherwise you’ll be at the mercy of Mother Nature
I used to run a dehumidifier and tried to keep the humidity below 40%. But after finding this chart, I found that it was not necessary to drop the humidity that low at the temperatures I was running. This will not help your grow room conditions, but may but your mind at ease a little.
I just commented on a dif thread about this. Mold and mildew need more then just high humidity to form. Its a combination of high rh and high co2. Stale air that is near saturation. As long as you have air moving (circulation) and fresh air coming in ( 1 full air exchange every 1-3 mins) you will be ok on the surface. As you get late into flower the buds get dense but they arent solid this can create small pockets of moist stale air just under the surface of your buds. That can pose problem but that potential exists regardless, of before mentioned efforts, without those efforts you would all but gurantee bud rot.
Cleaning your grow area prior to bloom, with peroxide will help eliminate any spores inside your tent which will further help reduce chances
@Ickey thats a great chart!
Thanks @Fieldofdreams.
